Could another self exist?

According to reception aesthetics, a work no longer belongs to the author after it is created. It is a re-creation of both the reader and the author. Only a thousand readers have the effect of a thousand Hamlet. Of course, the greater the work, the more significant the effect, because it contains a deep and wide range. The crudest ones hardly show this effect.

Have thought about a similar question. I often see a sentence, there must be another person in this world who lives the life he wants and walks the road he dare not take. So how do you know that there is another self living in the world? Why do you say that? By appearance? Perhaps this is the most intuitive, and this is how people usually identify and distinguish. But the most important thing for a person is the uniqueness of his thinking, and a person who lives a life completely different from his own will of course not be another self! The nondual nature of my existence depends on my thoughts and nothing else.
