Adam can never complete redemption

Language has nationality, regionality, and even in some cases, a strong personal color. Thinking has common forms and laws. Different people have common thinking forms and abide by common thinking laws. The commonality of thinking makes possible the cooperation of people, the formation of society, the formation of national will and collective personality. But the commonality of thinking is also limited. The commonality of thinking in form and law cannot replace the commonality of thinking content. Memory, emotion, and psychology cannot be shared between people. This limitation leads to differences, which is doomed to the selfish, greedy and indulgent side of human nature. Therefore, at the end of "EVA", the "villain" tries to destroy the body of all human beings in some way, and achieve an absolute connection in spirit, so that the thinking of all human beings forms a collective memory sharing, emotion sharing, and knowledge sharing. And this kind of behavior will inevitably have an impact on the world formed by the common limitations of thinking, so the ending of the animation is dark, anti-social, anti-human, and anti-human. Because society, humanity and the human condition are caused by the limitations of the human mind. This way of trying to create a god through spiritual connection, or to transcend human nature into divinity is extremely terrifying. But what is even more terrifying is that even if the spirits of all human beings complete the link and achieve a collection of memory, emotion, and knowledge-people can thoroughly understand each other and the protagonist cannot rule out the human characteristic of selfishness. The ultimate line of defense between people cannot be breached no matter what.

I revisited "EVA New Theater Edition: Q" last night. The ruins of the NERV headquarters in the film remind me of various scenes of EOE. So, tonight I revisited EOE (VHS with English subtitles on archive.оrg, great texture). Recalling that the first time I watched EOE was the winter vacation of the second grade of junior high school in 2004. My brother borrowed the Cantonese dubbed version of the VCD from nowhere. I thought that the first opportunity was going to be a big fight in the final episode, but I received a lot of psychological inquiries. After reading it, my heart was very closed. Until the winter vacation of the third year of high school, the end of the first semester of freshman year, the graduation of 2012, the summer of 2017, etc., I revisited it again and again, and penetrated it in VCD, DVD, Blu-ray and video tape... I will really watch it every year from now on. Different versions are better. (I haven't seen the LD version yet) [20170513 mark] I finally experienced a 1080P viewing, still FOREVER.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion quotes

  • Asuka Langley Sohryuu: [whispering] I don't want to die. I don't want to die.

    [gradually getting louder]

Asuka Langley Sohryuu: I don't want to die, I don't want to die, I don't want to die, I don't want to die. I DON'T WANT TO DIE!

  • Misato Katsuragi: God knows I'm not perfect, either. I've made tons of stupid mistakes, and later I regretted them. And I've done it over and over again, thousands of times; a cycle of hollow joy and vicious self-hatred. But even so, every time I learned something about myself. Please Shinji, you've got to pilot the EVA and settle this once and for all... for your own sake. Find out why you came here; why you exist at all! Answer your own questions. And when you've found your answers, come back to me. I'll be waiting for you.
