The first one that I have watched no less than 5 times is the love of horror movies. I believe that many horror movie fans and ordinary movie fans also agree that the first one is wonderful. Packing a story that exposes the dark side of human nature with a monster killing film, coupled with that topical desperate ending, won a lot of applause for the film. This time, the sequel replaced the director and screenwriter Neil Marshall of the first film, and replaced the former editor Jon Harris. The screenwriter is a few new faces, and the photography and soundtrack all follow the team of the first film. The "part 2" in the title implies that the sequel did not create an entirely new story, but rather "continues" the first. In fact, this is understandable. After all, many of the successful elements of the first film cannot be copied, because the audience already knows what is in the dark and what is hidden in human nature. If you do it again, there will be a danger of "making a mystery". So the screenwriter chose to "recycle and recreate" the first part.
The outrageous "continuation"
[[! Serious spoilers in this section! ]]
I believe everyone can remember the ending of the first part. The heroine SARAH slashed at the third party JUNO with an axe, leaving her in the pile of monsters to escape by herself, and the last escape was actually a dream. The sense of despair is really shocking. And this "continuation" actually overturned the ending of the first part! At the beginning of the movie, the heroine SARAH was rescued, but lost her memory. Later, he was dragged into the cave by the old sheriff to look for survivors, accompanied by a black policewoman and three expedition search and rescue personnel. It was expected that the monster appeared early, but the turning point of the story was unexpectedly the appearance of JUNO! Yes, this "Superwoman" actually survived, and together with SARAH, they formed an invincible anti-slaughter super female warrior. When the two met again, the embarrassing scene that they scuffled into a ball caused the biggest laugh in the movie theater. Well, maybe you can accept such a "continuation", but the ending is not certain. In the end, JUNO actually sacrificed himself in order to save SARAH and actively begged SARAH's forgiveness, and SARAH changed the desperate image of the first film, and his character broke out suddenly, sacrificing himself to save a black policewoman.
[[SPOILER END]]
Such a "continuation" is not as good as a "rewrite" that subverts the first part, because it overturns the ending of the first part, and even the repressed theme has been changed so brightly, which makes it worse. It is the lack of emotional details that make the "rewriting" illogical. When the 6 people just entered the hole, there were many "tribute" scenes in the
poor "copy". At first, I found it interesting because it could evoke good memories of the first film, but as time passed
As time went on, it was found that the "Tribute" moment was almost covered in the whole film, and it became a useless copy, almost a "remake". In this way, the crew is very worry-free. Even the scenes in the first part, the corpses are all copied, such as the collapse of the narrow tunnel, the hanging escape, the water battle, the trick of the camera's night vision function, and so on. The most embarrassing thing is that in the first part, the two women lay on the stone next to the tunnel, holding their breath, and the monster walked around in front of them. It was a very scary scene. "Dark Invasion 2" "adapted" this scene Scene: A man and a woman are back-to-back between the stone walls above the tunnel, supported in mid-air by pressure and friction, and the monster walks around under their hips. The instability is there, but the horror is almost gone, resulting in The scene was hilarious and caused a lot of laughter.
Pointless scenes of bloody violence are neither emotional nor "bloody" enough. The bloodiest scene in the first film was the heroine's attack on the monster. Although it was very violent, the audience enjoyed it. This sequel is full of meaningless blood and fast-moving clips. There is also a scene where SARAH and a black policewoman hid in a tunnel and found a monster in front of them. Neither of them dared to make a sound. At this time, a little mouse appeared, and the male protagonist in "Mission Impossible" could not make noise. The scene of seeing a mouse in the ventilation duct is exactly the same.
Another major disadvantage is that there are too many logical loopholes to let me "enter the play". In "Dark Invasion 2", all the characters knew that the sound would attract monsters, but they would still shout unscrupulously; the old sheriff was the first to see the monster, and the first character to get away except SARAH, But he didn't die for a long time. Others were already dead and wounded and fled, but he always wandered slowly in the cave to find SARAH, and when he found a monster, he was still too persistent in targeting SARAH. For the victims in the first part, why are their corpses still "sound", and the monsters really want to eat meat instead of just killing and not eating like a perverted murderer, so why leave their corpses as decoration?
【【Spoilers are here again! ]]
And the ending is even more stunned. The screenwriter tried to replicate the desperate ending of the first film, but it was a complete failure. How could a human become the mastermind behind the scenes? This suspense is not only abrupt but also contrived. I don't feel "desperate", but feel confused and inexplicable. There is another logical loophole here. Since this "black hand" doesn't want anyone to escape for some reason known to the ghost, why did he save SARAH who jumped at his car window at the beginning of the film?
【【End of spoiler】
No matter how disappointing "White Old Woman + Black Girl" and "Death Is Coming 4" are, we can still miss Miss Gaya and Junxiong's younger brother in "The Grudge", and we can still miss "Death Is Coming". surprise. But the "Darkness Invasion 2" dog-tailed sequel completely ruined the first one, and when we recalled the most terrifying British film in 25 years, we found that the ending was beyond recognition. This is not enough. Director Jon Harris is actually addicted. In an interview with the media, he said that he "intended to shoot the third part"... For the fans of "Dark Invasion", what can be more desperate than this ending Woolen cloth?
PS: This film may be worth three stars if viewed independently, but one or two scenes are still a bit scary. But based on its spoiling of the first...
