A century ago, the color silent film, the great French director Mérieux's mind-blowing and fantastical works. This version was restored from the precious color film version found in the Spanish Film Archive at the beginning of the 21st century. After the efforts of chemical reaction methods, digital scanning technology and computer restoration technology, it finally reappeared on the screen. The difficult and almost miraculous restoration process, like the spirit of exploration conveyed by the film, transcends the film itself, and is "a dream, a pure poem". The restored version has a touching soundtrack, and the modern instrumental post-rock and electronic music give the film a strong "dream-chasing" atmosphere, which perfectly fits with the picture from a century ago.
In conclusion, it was a blessing to see this film at the French Film Festival in the fall of 2015!
