"Tony Erdman", I finally finished watching it. It took nearly three hours to read it twice. I can't sit still watching this movie. This film has Oscar, Cannes, Golden Globe nominations, so there is no need to blow it up. The size is a bit large, but not dirty. The two male actors fired their guns directly.
If I were to sum it up, this film is to tell everyone a truth through the mouth of a seemingly crazy father: life is not easy, protect your sense of humor. We can't escape from life, we still have to work, eat, and pursue, which naturally brings us a lot of pressure. What should we do? Not going to work? Are you not going after it?
From this movie, the answer is: keep it humorous.
There are two deaths in the movie, one is the German dad's dog, and the other is his mother. This seems to remind us that the pressures we face when we are alive are still a thing in the face of "death"?
You can't catch up with the beauties with thin waist and legs, does it matter? Does it matter that you can't drive a good car? You can't afford to live in a 300-square-meter house, does it matter? Yes, we all know it's nothing compared to death, but we often forget that.
In fact, the daughter in the movie has always looked down on her father and felt that his way of solving all problems with humor was a failure. But in the end, the daughter accepted her father's outlook on life. Humor is not escape, if it were escape, the father would have been home long ago in the movie. Father is using humor as a weapon to fight against this absurd world and improve his own life.
It's been a long time since I watched a movie with nearly 3 hours, and this movie is very absurd and the focus is floating. It's great to get lost in the middle. But after persevering, I can still feel the optimism this movie wants to tell everyone.
Of course, again, true healthy optimism is built after pessimism.
