Son of Thor

The blurry shot at the beginning of the movie and the chaotic sounds that follow (gunshots, dogs barking, German soldiers screaming, Jews working...), are very amazing and take you quickly into this story. Narrated from the perspective of a little executioner, which in itself is very exciting. The cruelty of this war story is that the perpetrator is also the victim, and the torture and despair brought by the soul who yearn for redemption but cannot be redeemed throughout the whole process makes the viewers feel infinite. Depressed and breathless. But this is undoubtedly the most common misery that happens in war, so war is terrible and absurd. The ending of the movie is also handled very well. The restless eyes of the little boy, Sol's smile, and the sound of gunshots in the woods are very powerful. Great movie!

After the screening, the two aunts sitting next to me started discussing whether the boy was the son of the protagonist or not. I really...show the concentration camp from an individual (indifferent) perspective, especially those who have never been the protagonist before. The task force, the idea is good. But the endless short-focus lens really made me irritable. The character of the hero also makes me irritable. This film is so full, I really admire the French audience more and more!

    1. Hand-held camera follower, sports long lens, background defocus, a large number of close-ups, narrow frame, environmental sound effects, let us feel like the scene, but at the same time inhibit the release of our inner emotions, which is very interesting; 2. The lens language is unique , But I really can’t stand a movie where the male protagonist does this to death. Don’t talk to me about beliefs, give me an acceptable motivation, OK?

    Saul Ausländer: My son.

Abraham Warszawski: But you have no son.

Saul Ausländer: I do. I have to bury him.

Abraham Warszawski: You don't need a rabbi for that.

Saul Ausländer: At least he'll do what's right.
