I remember reading the statement written by Johannes: I will live every day for the rest of my life in the tragic and sad memories of Mr. Oscar Grant who shouldn’t be shot. He lost his life because of my actions, without any words. Can express my deep regret. I know that a daughter has lost her father, and the pain of a mother losing her son. I hope to be able to talk to Mr. Oscar Grant’s mother and his girlfriend, but too many death threats to my newborn son and family members have kept me silent. I hope that one day, when all the anger has passed, I will have such an opportunity to communicate in person. I know that many people still hate me, but if I don't express my views, I will be even more sad and uneasy. From now on and forever, whether I am alive, breathing, sleeping or awake, I will hear Mr. Oscar Grant’s scream: You shot me!"
Whether this statement is sincere or not, a life is lost because of a policeman, with racial discrimination and criminal history discrimination. How can it not make people worry? How can safety be guaranteed, and how effective is the system and regulations for safeguarding rights? After watching, there are mixed feelings, a gunshot, the tragedy of two families!
