I have always admired this type of Western drama based on psychoanalysis. This type of film is often based on a tragedy (or grief, or setback, or failure) in life, and the plot revolves around the characters related to the tragedy, revealing the selection process and psychological changes of the characters in the face of difficulties.
Although this type of film is not as easy to quickly arouse the curiosity and sensation of the audience as action films and science fiction films, it may be more meaningful for our lives.
Moreover, the cultural differences between the East and the West can also make us feel different when watching such films. Most Eastern films focus on the choice between left and right, and they are more willing to tell the audience the result of their choice. Western films magnify the psychological changes of people during the choice, and are more willing to discuss the process of choice with the audience.
