1. Non-linear life and death, replaced life
There is a corresponding person who died in the parallel time and space.
Nick, who was killed as a child (in a car accident), and Bella, who fell in love with Nick 25 years later (interlaced in time and space after 25 years, was replaced).
When the time and space were reversed 25 years later, two more people died, the adult Nick (interlaced in time and space, replaced), and Bella, who was not in love with Nick (suicide, in order to force Nick to find the TV. Even if he did not commit suicide, will also be replaced when new possibilities are generated)
In the end, it seems that Bella, who did not fall in love with Nick, and Nick, who survived as a child, stayed in the world, but they were both dead and alive.
The only one with a memory from beginning to end is Bella. But who can say that she is still her whole self? Similar to "Deadly Magic", the male protagonist who committed suicide and was resurrected by cloning, who can say that he is still her complete self?
Interestingly, only Bella's memory has continuity and will not be covered by new time and space, but will continue to move forward according to the direction of the film, and even has the golden finger of "taking a handshake to generate new memories". If this special feature is not explained by the "halo of the heroine", it may only be said that it is because she triggered the entire time and space chaos. Her memory is an independent, subjective existence.
2. A little romance
Nick combines the romance of two men at the same time, with the romance of David and the loyalty of Otto. Nick's memory retrospect in front of the criminal is really moving. He is always calm and expressionless, but this retrospective is still deep, burning silent fire.
"There are people who care about you in this world." As for why Bella must leave and return to the original world, I think there are two reasons. The first is the irresistible maternal love. Western movies are sometimes obsessed with expressing this strong maternal love, like the mother in "Silent Hill", who is almost crazy to find her daughter. For Bella, living in a reset world would be tantamount to murdering her daughter, who no longer exists because of her. Second, she and Nick have a chance to start over at the same starting point. Although she also read the memories of this world, but after all, she did not experience it herself. And time and space experience does not fundamentally change a person's nature, so David is destined to be distracted, and she and Nick are destined to start over.
All in all, it is a good commercial film, and it is skillful and proficient in playing narrative and time and space. However, as the core of love, it is still a routine.
