Season 4, Episode 4

level one:

When I first read it, I thought it was pretty cliché. People began to rely on love aids. The theme was very prominent. It was nothing more than criticizing big data matching, criticizing marriage and love websites, and criticizing modern technology. Love cannot be measured by numbers!

I was about to skip it halfway through, the plot was too simple.

Second floor:

Black mirror becomes white mirror, everything is analog. The 99.8% match is so well-founded. The love aid artifact is simply the embodiment of science!

This episode that integrates praise technology, the reverse is too surprising.

the third floor:

Black mirror to white mirror? It's not necessarily that simple. Love can be measured, but career can also be measured? You don't need to look for a job, just recommend it directly, the match rate is 99.8%, you can't accept it. The system insists on recommending that you move bricks for a lifetime. Do you have no choice but to commit suicide?

Can the lifespan be tested? After eating a barbecue, your life expectancy is reduced, is it not fragrant in an instant? At a young age, your life expectancy is shorter than others. Are you so anxious that you can't sleep?

Technology makes everything known, and human beings will not adapt, feeling that technology has obliterated meaning.

Fourth floor:

What do people seek?

A better life, a better life.

Technology can help you achieve the best results.

I choose technology.

People who criticize technology are hypocritical.

USS Callister quotes

  • Robert Daly: I'm coming to get you!

  • Robert Daly: [Furiously patching through to Walton, who is fixing the engine manually from the jet fader] Walton, you're going to pay for this.

    Walton: Robert, listen.

Robert Daly: I'm going to bring Tommy back in.

    Walton: Hey, Robert, listen...

Robert Daly: God so help me, you are going to regret all of this SO HARD!

Walton: Bob, I wanna talk to you here! I was thinking i should say... sorry.

    Robert Daly: [Beat] Go on.

Walton: [Breathlessly as he fixes the engine] You created Infinity. You're a fucking genius. I exploited that. I treated you like the golden goose and I got fat off the profits, figuratively speaking. And I was thinking, I should have appreciated you more, you know? I should have treated you better. Yeah, yeah I was thinking I should say all that.

    [Beat]

Walton: But then you threw my son out of an airlock, so... FUCK YOU TO DEATH.

[Activates the engine which incinerates him]
