Under the routine, maybe she is not so godly

I have always felt that with this movie, the model worker is absolutely qualified to compete for this year's Oscar queen. Although these kinds of movies centered on powerful characters have been seen so many nowadays, there was Xiao Li's "The Aviator" before, and the American drama "House of Cards" (I can't think of others with a bad memory...) and so on. But I have to admit that it is the role that needs a certain degree of effort in this kind of film to better show the true strength of an actor.

Regardless of the political stance conveyed in the film (I don’t know much about American politics...) and some seemingly illogical reversals in the film, I think other places have been performed to perfection, no matter from the image, The soundtrack is still cast.

Ms. Sloan, a well-known political lobbyist, as said in the movie, her influence is enough to pull the congressmen from Malaysia in an instant. Both parties to the gun control bill went to Sloan to achieve their goals, but Sloan chose to abandon her original company and took a few capable men who turned to support the gun control bill. The film mainly tells the story of her confrontation with the original company to win the votes of the congressmen.

The portrayal of the image of Ms. Sloan is the soul of the entire film. She is a typical workaholic. She works 16 hours a day, her mind is always highly active, and she has a variety of story ideas in her mind at all times. She has a perfect resume but is notorious because she doesn't trust her subordinates and always keeps her own hands when doing things. In order to succeed, she often walks the political gray line, and even uses her subordinates as bait and weapons. She has no friends, no family, only work, and a male prostitute (social escort...) occasionally called to "experience life".

Some people hate her deeply, such as her original company, some people express incomprehension to her, such as her new colleague, and some people seem to be accustomed to her extraordinary behavior and very calm, such as the few ShaoM's men she took away. .

In order to promote the passage of the Gun Control Act (what is called the Harris Act), she set up a large bureau, deliberately left in her last business, left eyeliner in the original company, and misappropriated ideas from her opponents (female Attitudes of guns), engage in counter-measures, be proficient in all aspects of the thirty-six strategies. On the one hand, the opponent is passive and exhausted in the fight for votes, and on the other hand, her opponent is forced to initiate a battle that seems to destroy her. In fact, it is beneficial to her and the hearing of the entire bill.

In the end she won.

She plays the routine between her hands and holds the initiative throughout the film. But if this is the case, it would really be a waste of such a good cast and performance. Sloan is also a woman and a person. She also has needs and flaws. In the process of realizing the entire plan, there are many things that she did not expect. of.

She suffers from chronic insomnia, and she has been taking medication for a long time at work to keep herself awake. This is her weakness. So when faced with other questions at the hearing, she avoided answering it, but the drug problem made her lose control.

She will feel guilty, this is her true feelings. She knew that in order to achieve her goal, she could use her employees ruthlessly to expose their scars, use them as targets, and even put them in danger of life. She knew all the risks, she knew she had no bottom line, but as the black female employee told her in the film, she just didn't care. So in the end, she will say before the sentence is pronounced that she is more willing to hurt her colleagues and betray their trust and confession, rather than bribery and monitoring these so-called political taboos.

She solves the problem of sexual desire by recruiting male prostitutes for a long time, relieves stress, and experiences another life that she has lost because of work. This is what she needs. So at the hearing, when the male partner did not testify for the senator and indirectly protected her, she would be surprised, because this is one of the few people who would care about her.

She knew that she would be summoned for a hearing, and she knew she would be exposed to the public as if stripped. This was the sacrifice she had to make in order to succeed, but she did not expect the pressure she would suffer in the process, so she would get angry, vent her anger, and lose control of her emotions in the office alone.

Sloan's imperfection just proves the truth and complexity of this image. Even though this approach (can you say the dark side of successful people...) is no longer new, the effect is still there. The film did not dig deep into the reasons why Sloan formed such a personality and habit of doing things. If she had to say anything, it was her obsession with "win" and her belief. But if it is said that for the sake of this belief, he will not hesitate to fight and lose both sides and put himself in prison, I want to say that at least I can hardly agree with it... (Could it be that there is a merciless and unrighteous atonement for the first half of my life?)

I think this is also the shortcoming of the story, and it also makes the ending of the movie seem somewhat lacking in logic and naive.

In the end, I still want to say that the model worker is so handsome! It's definitely a performance by the actress! This movie is definitely worth watching!

Confess Ms. Model Worker. Looking at the poster, I have already guessed what type it will be, and it did not disappoint me. Looking at the background of the screenwriter, I was extremely shocked to find that this film turned out to be the screenwriter's debut. It was not only completed independently, but also a spec script. It only took less than a year from the script sale to the release of the film, and it was an Oscar-winning director + model worker. The main creative combination of sister is simply a miracle in the industry.

81/100 This movie can be listed as the two major legacy of the 16th Olympiad alongside the "20th Century Woman" in my mind. The plot of "Ms. Sloan" is fast and not chaotic, and methodically throws out messages, which is in harmony with the wonderful group scenes in the scheduling. Jessica Chastain's performance and completion are superb. The film is a bit like a "focus" as a whole, but it is more dramatic and has a clearer political attitude.
