Foreword: The
full text is about 2800 words, and it takes about 4 minutes to read.
There are definitely spoilers, but I try to keep them as small as possible—after all, the story of Steins;Gate shouldn't be spoilers.

Text:
"Don't forget. No matter which world line you are on, you are not alone. I am here."

"Close your eyes!

" After The Swingers, I remember these two sentences firmly.

Because this is really awesome.

Steins;Gate is adapted from the Xbox 360 game of the same name released in 2009 and released on the PC side in 2010. As the April episode of 2011, it did not achieve much good results at the beginning of the show. A large number of audiences gave up watching "Stone Gate" after insisting on watching a few episodes, and "Magic Girl Madoka" competing on the same stage. Both the number of clicks and word of mouth are rising steadily. Even now, the audience who abandoned Steins;Gate was not without reason, because the rhythm of this work was really slow, and the characters' initial words and deeds were incomprehensible, until episode 8, It's hard for the audience to be surprised by the progression of the story. The "Third Chapter Effect" is useless here. This animation quality evaluation standard originated from "Magic Girl Madoka" has lost its validity-because as a work with a length of 24 episodes, "Stone Gate" ” used a full 12 episodes of content to pave the way for the subsequent continuous plot climax with rich details and settings.

I can say that if Steins;Gate is regarded as a work of reasoning, then the first 12 episodes are equivalent to the mystery, the next 10 episodes are the process of solving the mystery, and the final 2 episodes are the moment of solving the mystery. It is this overall layout similar to "When the Cicadas Weeps" that makes many viewers feel a strong shock from the impact of the plot changes, and even re-watch it from the first episode to pick up The details of the story that were ignored at first.

In addition to accumulating emotions and creating atmosphere, in fact, such an overall layout is also a way of story expression that the animation production team has to adopt, because the animation plot of "Stone Gate" is adapted from its game content ("When the Cicadas Cry") Also adapted from the game). The complexity of its game clues and the completely different ending forms determine that the animation production team must adopt an ingenious structure to express the content of the story to the greatest extent. This structure is integrated into a large number of world lines in the game at the same time. Choose to show as many world lines as possible to show the characters' struggles and struggles against fate.

For the adaptation of this kind of game into animation, the more famous one is "Fate/stay night" (also known as "Fate/stay night") in Xingyue World. As a game, "Fate/stay night" actually has three lines and five endings for players to choose their own routes to different endings, so the animation production team chose different story lines to animate the work. Fan dramas that have been screened so far are "Fate/stay night" (2006), "Fate/stay night: UBW" (2014), the theatrical animation is "Fate/stay night: UBW" (2010), and the upcoming release is also There is "Fate/stay night: Heaven's feel" in the form of a theatrical version.

The animation production team of "Fate of the Night" was able to choose a separate clue to tell the story each time, because its story highlights are the story of the magician and the servant and the fierce battle.

But Steins;Gate couldn't choose a single thread to tell the whole story.

Because the highlight of its original work lies in the intricateness of the clues and the strong variability of different endings.

It can't attract others with violent action fights or bright blooded duels.

So it needs to fit as many worldlines as possible into the 24-episode length, and tell a complete story logically and rigorously, so that the audience can't pick out obvious mistakes. And such a form of story expression must fully pave the way for the causes and consequences of different world lines, so as to be able to provide convincing explanations for the characters' subsequent coping behaviors and world line jumps.

It has to be said that from a commercial point of view, its production concept is a risky move.

Thankfully, it ended up being a success.

So here, I want to express my gratitude to the audience who insisted on watching Steins;Gate. If everyone at the time couldn't bear the long and unrelenting first 12 episodes, then this work would only end in a tragic end, and no one would deliberately watch its last 12 episodes. Some of the most elaborate works were buried.

Thanks for their persistence, and also thanks to the crazy Amway of the old driver, Mr. Hao, that let me grit my teeth and forcefully carry the plot of the first 12 episodes.

You see, until now, I haven't made any specific spoilers.

So I'm going to start spoilers a little bit.

The male protagonist, Rintaro Okabe (Phoenix Academy Fierce True) is a college student with a secondary illness, who is always hiding in a laboratory shared with friends and tinkering with all kinds of magical equipment. One day, he and his childhood sweetheart Mayuri went to the radio building to listen to a lecture, but they saw the scene where the heroine Makase Kurisu was murdered. Line jumps. The world was reconstituted, and he came to the world line where Makase Kurisu was not killed, thus starting the longest three weeks of his life.

After getting to know Makase Kurisu and successfully developing a simple time machine, he began to allow people around him to send text messages to the past, which is called D-mail. Every D-mail sent will cause the world line to jump. Rintaro Okabe has the ability to observe, so after every jump of the world line, he will retain the previous consciousness and memory. As one D-mail after another was sent, and as the time machine gradually perfected, the world line slowly developed in a catastrophic direction, which eventually led to tragedy.
In order to save the tragedy, he sent his consciousness and memory to the past again and again.

But he found himself powerless to change everything.

The pocket watch was destined to stop at eight o'clock in the evening, and the man he had promised to protect was destined to die at that moment.
During more than 3,000 crossings, he lost his second illness, lost his fantasy, lost his self-confidence, and even lost himself. Every time the world is reconstructed, only he can clearly remember the memory of all the previous world lines, and other people know nothing about it.

No one knew what he had gone through. Every time he returned to the storage point, the surrounding people would just watch him rush out the door blankly, or watch him bury his head in his arms without saying a word. But in every crossing, the heroine Makase Kurisu will unswervingly believe in his story, believe that he is someone who has crossed over from the future, and calmly give various suggestions and ideas. If it weren't for Makase Kurisu's constant company, I'm afraid Okabe Rintaro would have been completely defeated by countless failures - he has been defeated and feels numb to the tragedy that was doomed to happen, but Makase Hong Lisu's slap in the face made him understand what he should do.

"Cancel all the D-mails that have been sent so far, so that you can return to the original world line." Makase Kurisu made such a suggestion.

When the hero struggles to cancel almost all D-mails, he discovers the tragedy of fate.

The first text message he sent was related to the death of Makase Kurisu. If he canceled the sending of this past text message, then Makase Kurisu would die as before. And he has already fallen in love with this arrogant, confident, calm and intelligent girl in countless times of travel.

If the doomed tragedy is to be resolved, the girl he loves is going to die.

Only one of the two can be selected.

The male protagonist is reluctant to choose, but the female protagonist helps him decide.

Before the timeline jump this time, she rushed back to the laboratory, panting and trying to confess.

But he had already activated the timeline jump and could not listen to the full sentence of confession.

When he came back to his senses, he had returned to the world line where Makase Kurisu was killed.

Everything is as if it never happened.

Only he, a lonely observer, still remembers everything he has experienced in the face of the pursuit of the dark organization, the unpredictability of fate, and the countless partings of life and death.

Temporality defines people. He said so.

For him, the kiss under the sunset was so real and tender.

To this world, all this is but an illusion.

Without that unexpected phone call, without a video from the future, he would probably have lost his fighting spirit completely and didn't have the energy to keep fighting.

In the last two episodes of TV, his unwillingness and courage returned to him. He has always named himself "Mad Scientist Phoenix Academy Fierce", but at that moment, the real Phoenix Academy was born - after all, not everyone has the guts and ability to deceive the world.

After going through so much, the male protagonist finally met the most beautiful ending in the crowd of people on the street:
no one knows what will happen in the future, so it has infinite possibilities
like this reunion . This is the choice of Steins;Gate. The lonely observer is no longer confused.
