Scarlett's absence from the last "London trilogy" is a big regret in my heart

Woody Allen's movie posters and stills never interest me, and even after I watched "Match Point" and got a good deal on it, I didn't pay much attention to Woody.
However, with my growing love for Scarlett and the good impression left by "Match Point", I watched "The Scoop" on a boring day, and unexpectedly, the film made My day didn't seem so boring anymore. Woody's storytelling process is full of calm and humor, and the whole film is extremely smooth and smooth. Although the characters' dialogues are lengthy, they are not contrived at all. They are naturally like the dialogues that we can hear around us. The only difference is that they are full of meaning.
So, when I learned that "Scoop" and "Match Point" belonged to Woody's "London Trilogy", I couldn't wait to watch the last one - it turned out to be "The Cassandra Dream". . . . Speaking of which, when I saw the introduction of this film, I really had no interest at all. . . . Even starring Ivan.
Of course, now that I have the desire to watch it, Ivan's performance has increased my desire to watch the film. but! but! Scarlett was the only one missing from the last "London Trilogy"!

Here's an interlude of why I'm suddenly interested in Ivan. My best impression of him in the past was in "Trainspotting", then I watched "Velvet Gold Mine", "Forbidden Books by the Pillow" or something. People have always praised Ivan, and I have always had a tepid feeling for him. The only impression is that he looks too much like Jude Law. But just a few days ago after watching "I Love You Morris", I finally understood why this man was so "popular" by everyone, and I became a member of his support.
Interlude again, Xiao Qiao and Ivan co-starred in "Velvet Gold Mine" back then. Now the young man has become an uncle and appeared in the same series of movies at the same time. Such a coincidence will always give me a feeling of time, time, and time. . . .

Ahem, back to the topic, I thought Scarlett, an American girl, didn't have a suitable role in the third "London"-themed story at first, so I didn't star in "The Dream of Cassandra", however After reading it, I can't help but feel great grief in my heart - isn't this vase role of Ivan's girlfriend written for Scarlett? Why didn't Old Man Woody ask her to play? why why~~~
T_T Although this is my biggest regret about the movie, the movie itself is still as wonderful as ever. "Kassandra's Dream" is similar in style to "Match Point", with less "scoop" humor and more seriousness and tension.
Here I want to say "thank you all for being here today" in a small s tone, but after thinking about it, what kind of movie review would I be? . . After talking nonsense for a long time, I haven't got involved with this movie at all. So let me say a few more words. . . But I have to admit that I wrote this review in two parts, and the interval in between has almost made me forget the plot. . .
"Match Point" and "Kassandra's Dream" both have murder plots, I don't know why, I've seen so many suspense horror cult movies, only these two murder plots make me The heart really mentioned the throat, and I was so nervous that I wanted to crawl into the screen, although I didn't know what to do with it. . . That might be Woody's genius, knowing how to get his audience pumped with adrenaline (yes...).
Okay, talking about this doesn't seem to help. . . So I still don't talk about it. Err. . .
Let's talk nonsense again. After watching this "Dream of Cassandra", of course I can't wait to see "Midnight Barcelona", Scarlett + Woody Allen, what more do I need to say? However, this is the one that disappointed me the most with Woody. The biggest feeling is that this one lacks the calmness that Woody most attracted me to, and the plot is also average, so I should watch Scarlett.
Well, this time is really coming to an end, but let me say one more thing. . . . Woody seems to be very interested in China. Basically, every film will mention China. In "Midnight in Barcelona", Scarlett went directly to learn Chinese. When Scarlett said "How are you?" It's killing me. . . .
"Thank you all for being here today"

Cassandra's Dream quotes

  • Father: Nobody wants to be selfish, but everybody is.

  • Mother: Everybody predicted great things for Ian. He's so nice looking and personable. Now, it's a mystery to me why he's not more successful.

Father: Because he's not content with what he has. He sees himself like Howard, with a fancy life. Always got some scheme. Always waiting for his ship to come in.

Mother: Well, his ship won't come in at the restaurant. He does that out of a son's love for his father.

Father: Like the poet said, "The only ship certain to come in has black sails."
