Everyone has the only Hamlet in his heart

I saw a lot of bad reviews and ridicules about this movie. It is undeniable that this film contains almost all the old-fashioned Hollywood Christmas heart-warming elements: big names, Christmas street scenes, and a successful ending, seemingly unexpected but completely within the audience's foreseeable ending turning point. But what I want to say is that even such a seemingly clichéd chicken soup film can have different feelings in the eyes of different people, and there is no need to discredit it. The original intention of the film is just to say the most simple truth, time, love and death, the eternal theme in our lives, and when you experience unbearable pain, you will be more aware of even the weakest beauty in life. At least this is my understanding. The benevolent sees the benevolent, the wise sees the wisdom, the cliche of the plot, and the business are actually second. As long as it can touch our hearts about life, life's perception, hope, and cherish, then this movie should not bear bad reviews.

The stories gathered by big celebrities are slag, mainly because the screenwriters can't write plays, and many abstract concepts and feelings are not expressed in suitable dramatic forms at all.

"Nothing's ever really dead if you look at it right." "Just make sure you notice the collateral beauty."

Collateral Beauty quotes

  • Whit: Why don't you want to spend the holiday with me? I miss you.

Allison: Because I hate you. Because you're a philanthropist. Because you broke Mom's heart.

    Whit: Philanderer.

    Allison: What?

Whit: The word you're looking for is philanderer, not philanthropist. They have a slightly different meaning.

    Allison: Well, you would know.

  • Brigitte: Death is so much more vital than Time.

    Simon: Right.

Brigitte: Death gives Time all of its value.
