Saw it on the 25th, well. . . . . not a classic

Saw it in theaters at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and just got back from watching it. First of all, the theater is really good. I haven't seen such a high-quality film screening for a long time. It's so comfortable. Every frame is like watching a slideshow. The sound is also quite good. In China, I have only seen movies in Beijing, and no one has such an effect.

Regarding this film, first of all, I hate Jamie Foxx and the director, the characters are muttering very fast from beginning to end, it is difficult to understand, although most of the time it is neurotic babbling or nonsense, but Tired of listening and guessing.

In the middle of the film, I looked at my watch, it was 75 minutes, I felt bad. The plot feels like it has just started, but the 109-minute film is coming to an end, and it's hard to tell a good story.

There is no need to repeat the plot, I will watch it anyway, but I feel that the director is too hard. Movies, if the director tries so hard, something will happen. Kai Ge's Promise is an extreme example, huh. There are too many clues in this film, self-salvation of a numb life, auditory hallucinations, social problems of the homeless, geniuses and lunatics, etc. I am afraid that it will not be a problem to make a feature film.
The second aspect of the director's efforts is that there are too many heavy scenes, all of which are big jobs, and it is one thing to watch them tired or not. There is no foreshadowing, introduction, and bridges, and the characters, contradictory relationships, background environments and emotional contrasts are not natural, so the heavy scenes feel like they are all hard work. Although people remember that movies rely on heavy scenes and important scenes, the film is actually a whole, and the role of scenes outside the heavy scenes is equally important. The highlights of a lot of bad movies are actually not bad, but if they make you feel unreal and unnatural, then they are not beautiful.
The third aspect is the director's technique, like when foxx returned to the concert hall for the first time, the picture became pure colored lines and light. My first reaction at that time was the media player of windows. Everyone remembers the changing background, it's really similar. To show the psychological feeling, if it is a movie like the gate, forget it. A documentary movie is like Tom Hanks listening to an opera in the Philadelphia story, and the light itself changes to red. It should be over.

This film is by no means useless, the performance is remarkable, and the music is very good, but I'm afraid I just changed the external feel of the theater, so I won't talk about it. Of course, it is also possible that the English is not good, and the director does not understand. But generally speaking, you have to understand to understand, this is not the style of Hollywood, and it is not like the way of the movie. After the film was over, the applause was softer, more polite, which was a pity.

  • Nathaniel Ayers: Gotta put rosin on your bow. It's just like feeding a parakeet. A bow needs rosin just like a police car needs prisoners.

  • Nathaniel Ayers: So, you guys are basically united by non-belief.

    Atheist: That's right.

Nathaniel Ayers: Yeah. So, do you non-gather? And non-worship?

    Atheist: We tried, but uh...

Nathaniel Ayers: Not a lot to talk about.

Atheist: Yeah... Now we have a website.

    Nathaniel Ayers: Swell.

    Atheist: [speechless]

Nathaniel Ayers: Anything else you don't believe in?
