One thought of heaven, one thought of hell - written next to "Shining Presence"

I have been watching the film "Shining Demeanor", and I picked it up by accident more than ten years ago.
Over the years, I watched it many times. It may be in different countries, in different provinces, in different moods, with different friends, or alone. It's hard to articulate what attracts me, because I don't understand it myself.

At different stages of life, I have thought about writing down some relevant written records, but I often can't do it. This time too. It's been four or five days, and I re-read it several times and collected some information. I wrote three beginnings, but none of them were what I wanted, like I didn't understand why David's father was always cruel and cruel to his beloved son.

There is such a scene in the play, David's father is sitting by the old-fashioned gramophone at home quietly savoring "Rachmaninov's Third Piano Concerto", the sunlight behind him is faintly shining on him through the curtains. With his head down and his quiet taste, the family members were silent. Such quiet pictures and tender moments remind me of Nazi concentration camps, World War II, human skin lampshades, mountains of golden teeth, and the ashes of the incinerators that fluttered down like snowflakes... Suffering and thousands of years of ups and downs are the most irrational signs in the entire history of human flourishing and development. It's hard to imagine why a nation with so much wealth and top scholars has encountered so many setbacks, and even more dangerous genocide! In the background of the era after World War II, I don't know how many Jews who survived lived silently. What was their perception of life? I also thought, is a person who loves and even reveres "La San" so much, is he a reckless man without conscience and self-cultivation? If there is such a reckless man, what kind of hatred does he have for his beloved son, and what kind of hatred does he have for his beloved son? It's hard to explain.

In fact, it is difficult to explain because the starting point is wrong. His father undoubtedly loved David, and it was the deepest and deepest paternal love. He has his own life experience, his own understanding of society, politics, and the country, his own perception of life and happiness, and the deepest sense of survival crisis. This sense of crisis is rooted in the blood of the Jewish nation and is serious affects the way they think. The principles he believes in are the principles he relies on to overcome difficulties, and are naturally a successful experience. He educates his children with this understanding, and what he is pinning is the desire for life continuation! There is a strong and rational side in this, as well as power and brutality that recklessly resists - these two words are actually unfair to describe this old man. No matter who it is, after experiencing the precarious days in World War II, when life was lower than livestock, it is already lucky to be alive. The vast majority of the people of the same species have long been processed into daily necessities by humans of the same species.

Writing life in such a desolate background, people who are still traumatized naturally pass on all the experience inherited from history to the next generation, which also creates a different childhood for David. Compared with his parents, a full, warm and stable life was the keynote of his childhood, and his talent and acquired education made him shine prematurely. He undoubtedly has a special way of feeling things. This special touch allows him to grasp the essence of music faster than others and interpret it in his own way. At the same time, he is obtuse at the mundane level: etiquette, human feelings and sophistication , He does not understand normal communication, and he even lacks the language skills required for normal social interaction. It seems that God is trying to prove fairness.

It is such a young man who indulged in and hone his perception in the field of his devotion and love. With his innate love and a lot of hard work, he reached the pinnacle of human skills and successfully challenged "La San". Then, in the applause of the public, he fell down to bid farewell to the stage curtain call.

David's real happy life actually starts from being far away from the crowd. The physical morbidity concealed his healthy mind and rich emotions, giving him the opportunity to understand all levels of society, to experience material hardships and famine, and to experience the warmth and coldness of human relationships. There is no applause surrounded by flowers, no respect and love in the eyes, no family and friendship, he lives in different environments, wandering between families, living on the mercy of others, and even has no freedom to play the piano. Then, God did what he often does, he closed a door and opened a window - a friend David met on a rainy night provided him with a place to live and a place to play, so that he could have food and play whenever he wanted. The piano, with many spectators and admirers gathered around. These people don't laugh at his upside-down language and grotesque behavior, but sincerely applaud his talent. And he can finally play freely just for the love of music, not to compete or achieve any goals, but purely to enjoy music and enjoy life. During this period, David was no longer shackled by all the shackles of fame and fortune in the world, and his mind returned to the most primitive and pure state, leaving only the purest and simplest emotions, music, or love. In the world of ego he is the king of freedom.

The second half of the film is a typical Hollywood-style plot. David met someone who loved him and understood him and tied the knot. Then he came back to perform successfully and lived a happy and happy life since then. All are happy.

I don't have a problem with this ending, or it doesn't matter. From common sense, David should be in a sanatorium or something like that. It really doesn't matter. What I can always remember and be moved by are these moments: he ran wildly in the park in a trench coat, always running like a child in the way he liked; he was naked and only wearing an open trench coat jumping on the trampoline , listening to the music, slightly closing his eyes and opening his arms as if he were flying; he was surfing naked on the seaside alone... and at that moment, the only time he bravely raised his head, looked at his lover timidly but firmly in a normal tone and said :marry me. These shots are repeating to people the idea expressed countless times: adhere to freedom, equality, pure heart, adhere to love, believe in beauty. Against the backdrop of breathtaking musical masterpieces ("Heroic Polonaise in A-flat", "Flying of the Bumblebee", "La 3", "Passion", "The Bell", "Hungarian Rhapsody 2", gorgeous coloratura soprano ), such a concept that incorporates the power of music is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

If you taste it carefully, everyone in the film is walking according to the established "self" mode. Judging from the appearance, there are stubborn and arrogant fathers, timid and silent mothers, kind and righteous restaurant waitresses, lonely Christians full of divinity, female astrologers who have experienced vicissitudes of life, tolerance and kindness, and of course pure, paranoid and autistic people. Talented protagonist. These vivid characters are gathered in one environment, and cut into the story at different points in time for different reasons, allowing the plot to develop along the trajectory expected by the director, until the end of the film, the husband and wife stand in front of David's father's tomb. Wife asks: what do you feel? This question leads to an interesting and realistic discussion:
nothing.
Nothing?
Maybe it's my fault. Maybe because of me.
You can't always blame yourself like that
...yes, you can't blame yourself, yeah...you can't blame dad because he's gone
but you are.
Haha, yeah I'm here. Life goes on, doesn't it? ……Can not give up.
...
The father and son, who have been separated for many years, have reached a reconciliation in a dark humorous way, as if they are related to each other. Did they actually separate? They never stop thinking about each other. Do they hate each other? Even if there is, it has faded long ago. No hatred and dissatisfaction can run through time, let alone between father and son.

Buddha said: One thought of heaven, another thought of hell. This sentence does not explain good and evil, but in fact it is saying: One thought is attachment, and one thought is liberation. To have troubles is to suffer, only to be liberated is joy. When we understand the given destiny and fate and are no longer obsessed with self-feeling and so-called principles, then many other "selfs" can be reflected in our hearts, and we can gradually understand: so many "others" and so many feelings are involved in disputes of interests , all have cause and effect.

how?

Five-colored horses, thousands of golden furs, Hu'er will come out to exchange for fine wine, and together with you, we will eliminate the sorrows of all ages. ^_^

Is it because I watched too many movies of this type? Nothing touched the music is good

Revisit. Unexpectedly, I have stocked up so many movies of playing piano and singing on the computer. I am obviously a sound mad. The contribution of this film to me is to pull the uncle and split the emotional disorder. For some people, it is the red label recorded by RCA for David's deity-known as the worst in history (the sister actually wants to collect one, but I can't find it everywhere), and it hooks up with the classics. The movie carrier shines. The only thing intact in the original soundtrack is the flying bee, played by Uncle Ra himself.
