The film itself has no new theme, and the emphasis on the importance and irresistibility of sex is
a bit of a personal biography.
Sex is indeed an unspoken thing, the reason why this A man makes us sick because he says what he can only do. Because he can't do it. It's not about being able to write, it's about not being able to do it. Sadism isn't because he's a sex abuser, it's because He was a victim of sexual abuse.
So, the theme is: keep your mouth shut about what you can only do. Otherwise, doing the opposite is horrific and tragic.
