The depth of the film is more than expected, and the director did not give a clear answer

As the movie says, this is a wicked story, but in a Western context, especially in France and Europe at the time, it has the meaning of enlightenment (sexual) freedom. When you think about it, Western freedom, physical freedom, sexual freedom, and individualism seem to be the same family. Equality in the West is truly inherited from gender equality and gender enlightenment.

The film itself is complex, just as human nature and history are complex. This film is about a biography of an abnormal person, a normal history, and a real human nature. This is a movie that requires a little patience and a mature enough mind, otherwise it is easy to be labelled messily. Evil, vulgar, devil, truth and falsehood, humanity, madness, sexual freedom, thirst, cruelty, tragedy, but I don't seem to see eroticism. The writing is endless, unfortunately, I am just labeling it, but I still hope to read a narrative quietly, and do not want to comment too much, especially comments from politicians, after all, the depth of the film is more than expected, and the director did not give it. give a clear answer.

The priest looks like St. Cassie! Poor Kate, was actually caught in the priest's YY... The plot is not plain, the theme has a certain depth, it is an underrated movie~

The heroine is very beautiful, but unfortunately the plot is too weak.

Quills quotes

  • Marquis de Sade: If someone would try to walk on water and drowned, would you blame the Bible?

  • Abbe du Coulmier: You are not to entertain visitors in your quarters.

Marquis de Sade: I'm entertaining you now, aren't I?

Abbe du Coulmier: Yes, but I'm not a beautiful young prospect ripe for corruption.

Marquis de Sade: Don't be so sure.
