Hollywood production

When I was a child, I found a DVD of "Quil" in my father's bookcase. I didn't think that the enlightenment education of erotic films many years ago was about Sade. It's an unforgettable fate. At that time, I watched it with fast-forward, and repeatedly searched for the passion scene, but I couldn't find it. The most impressive thing is Geoffrey Rush's huge snow-white ass, which is loose like the sagging breasts of an old woman. I'm very disappointed, it turns out that this is an erotic movie.
When I was in elementary school, I hid in my bed and listened to "Sultry in the Night", and when I heard the sexy and sultry voice of the female anchor say, "Friends who follow erotic films must know that famous Hollywood erotic film "Quil", I thought Geoffrey Rush's ass emerges.
Later, at my girlfriend's house, I watched it again. My girlfriend teased me watching Quill while working next to me. I don't know if it's the porn that's too substandard or if I'm more passionate about Thad than flirting, I just don't have a biological reaction at all.
I don't know what people are watching this movie for. Admiration for its fame, pursuit of sensory stimulation, hearing about Sade's fame, or something else.
I don't know Hollywood, but this movie is really full of commercial highlights. The dramatic plot, the superb performance of Geoffrey Rush, kate winslet's fresh and half-exposed breasts, exquisite makeup, and the confrontation between the positive and negative characters. All the elements that attract the public are available, and it will naturally become famous.
The 3 points for "The Quill" is an evaluation I give from the film itself, regardless of my understanding of Sade. Geoffrey Rush is indeed an excellent candidate to play Sade, much better than the Marquis of Sade played by Daniel Auteuil in the French "Marquis de Sade". Sade played by Daniel Auteuil is less wild and uninhibited, less handsome and less talented, and is too stable and rigid.
If you look at the plot aside from the historical facts, it is indeed fascinating. The hypocrisy of the Napoleon government, the real wildness of the Marquis de Sade, the sanctimoniousness of the doctor, the love and protection of the priest, the inner entanglement, the ignorance and innocence of the laundress, and the beauty of flowers. The contrast of the film is as sharp as a drama under the bright sunshine, and the obscurity and profoundness in it are naturally much less. After all, shadows are always hidden behind sunlight.
If "Quill" reflects the conflict between religion and free sex, desire and moral choice, I strongly disagree.
Because, since this film is a biopic with Sade as the protagonist, there are too many places in the plot that are untrue, and director Philip Kaufman did not restore the true character of Sade, but only used Sade's indulgence of desire to outline A story of the persecution of a dashing prodigal son. It can be said that such a role is very typical and very popular. If it is not Sade, it can be any prodigal son, and it does not need to be named after Sade. I have no objection to Philip Kaufman's use of Sade, but why write a biography for a film that can't even touch Sade's soul, and praise it?
The ending of the film is far from the historical facts. I don't know if Philip Kaufman thinks that the audience is an ignorant idiot who can fool around casually or it is really a helpless move made out of commercial interests. Thad died in pain, not by biting his tongue. Wasn't it obvious enough that Philip Kaufman's intentions weren't showing the least respect for the way Thaad died?
I watched this film just to watch Sade, I just didn't expect to see it so angry. The film was so dramatic that it made me laugh and cry. Sade's life has been full of ups and downs, why add such a bloody stroke to his relatively peaceful old life?
This reminds me of the epitaph of Sade:
Those who pass by the tomb ask you to kneel on
your knees
and pray for the most unfortunate person in the world.
He was born in the last century
and lived in our door.

Persecuting him from time to time
How shameful the Demon King
oppressed his life During a
time of terror that
pushed Thaad to the brink of
Parliament Restoration and
Sade's injustice

If Thad learned that Philip Kaufman made him such a tragic hero, You will definitely cooperate with a big smile, and give birth to the deepest contempt and disdain in your heart.
Even though I love Thad deeply, I do not deny that Thad is extremely selfish. While the film completely idealizes Sade, making him the embodiment of the pursuit of freedom, perhaps Philip Kaufman was influenced by Eluard. I really like the poems written by Éluya for Sade, but he does not know Sade in depth. Of course, I can understand the practice of recruiting famous people to support his ideas. Just like propaganda reform, it just reflects its own weakness.
For a long time, I was looking for a Sade biopic that could put aside all commercial interests, but it seems that the directors are more interested in the commercial value of Sade, not obsessed with his soul and talent. After all, there are only a few people who love him fervently like me. It's just that I saw an unsatisfactory screen image after traveling through mountains and rivers to find it, and I'm going to complain.
Sade, Sade, how can I find you?
