I miss my past self.

Childhood, mother, friend, lover... Maybe when people really enter old age, or when they are not very old and in poor health, they like to recall the past. Examining your own life, torturing your conscience, even if you are successful, will you still intuitionally waste your time and leave a lot of regrets in vain. However, life cannot be repeated. The person you used to love, even if he still loves you, is no longer the original him, and you are not the original you. What you miss is not the past, but the past self.

So let go of everything, lift your spirits, and become a better version of yourself.

It's not inspirational, it's not chicken soup, maybe you don't know why, but it's my real feeling after watching the movie.

My glory comes from my pain, and my pain makes my glory. This life is intertwined and interdependent.

The Shanghai Film Festival drank like a fool and went to the midnight show, probably the only one I could watch this year. From the perspective of the work, it is too private and too personal, and there is even a bit of self-pity. But I think it's my problem as a viewer, and I'm just beginning to appreciate the frustration and torment of aging and pain. All perceptions and attitudes are essentially brought about by somatosensory sensations, just like the first time I experienced the beauty of erotic desire. A good author will like whatever story he tells and how he tells it.

Pain and Glory quotes

  • Salvador Mallo: I admit that the text is a bit melodramatic now.

Alberto Crespo: Don't worry, I master melodrama. My years in Mexico will be of some use.

  • Alberto Crespo: Will you come to see me?

    Salvador Mallo: I don't know. I don't think so.

Alberto Crespo: This time I'm not doing Shakespeare, or Chekhov, or Lorca. I'm doing you.

Salvador Mallo: If you do it badly, I'll feel terrible. And if you do it well, I'll feel much worse.
