art, art

The movie I watched last Friday suddenly came to my mind today, and I found that I didn't think about the movie seriously, and I didn't make a record for myself. So on this Sunday night, I relived the impact this "Pain and Glory" brought me a week ago.

I learned about this film, not surprisingly, through today's Oscar list. At first glance at the title of the film, I thought it was an inspirational film about a person who endured pain and finally gained glory, and then learned that it was a gay film, and thought it was about a homosexual being tortured by his own sexual orientation, but In the end, I was relieved and felt that it was a glorious thing to love boldly, but obviously, these ideas of guessing by name are too simple, and the film has its own deep meaning. It also reminded me not to judge what a movie is about by its title. The last time I stumbled upon this was "Smell the Fragrance and Know a Woman" a few days ago.

The film is told in a combination of the protagonist's memories and what happened at the moment, a two-line narrative mode, which is similar to "The Godfather 2". It's just that the two lines of the film are the same protagonist, respectively his childhood and the present. Looking back on the past is to pave the way for the future, especially in terms of sexual orientation, while the other line of "The Godfather 2" is the old Godfather. For a family history, this is more like a fateful reincarnation and comparison.

Since it is a gay movie, it is natural to have some restricted-level shots, but like "Call Me by Your Name", these male-male or erotic scenes will not give people a vulgar feeling, but experience the kind of Pure beauty, the beauty of the human body, the beauty of sensuality, I have to sigh the director's camera skills. There are two erotic scenes that impressed me deeply in "Pain and Glory": First, when the male protagonist was a child, he saw the picture of a young man who came to his home to paint the walls naked and bathed. The plump muscle lines appeared under the only sunlight in the basement. So full of tension and beauty; the second is that the male protagonist and the old lover whom he has not seen for many years meet at home, chatting about their home life and experiences over the years, and when they say goodbye, they hug and kiss each other in embarrassment. Although they were shocked, they did not seem surprised after the emotional foreshadowing. Love is a primitive instinct of human beings, and beauty is also an instinctive pursuit, regardless of the opposite sex or the same sex.

Aside from the love, hate, and hatred that the film talks about, what shocked me even more in the process of watching the film was the impact on the color of the film. The scenes of the male protagonist's childhood, the current home decoration arrangements, and the clothing of people in various public places such as theaters, all use bold red and various bright colors with visual impact, which are gorgeous but not messy. Compared with the monotonous black and white dark tones, this kind of color matching is more lively and passionate. My first reaction, maybe this is art, there is a literary atmosphere overflowing the screen.

After the old lover praised the home decoration of the man's house, the man had a saying that resonated with me. He said, "I put all the money I earn into these paintings and this house." It's a bit like my state some time ago. In order to move to a new house, I bought all kinds of furniture and dressed up the house, but I have a very different place from the male protagonist. My house is rented. Within the scope of one's ability, the pursuit of higher quality in the scenes of one's own life is also a yearning for beauty and one of the meanings of living. But when the economic situation doesn't allow it, it's okay to be a poor house, and it's Weiwu Dexin who should fight for it.

The male protagonist is an excellent director and writer. Regarding the director, there are not too many scenes in the film. But on the writer's side, he has some manuscripts on his computer. His friend took a fancy to it in an accidental page, and fought for the opportunity to appear in the story, which received a good response. It is through some of these creations that the male protagonist has won wealth and fame for himself. I envy such a life and yearn for such a life. But no matter what, whether there will be a day to become a writer or not, writing is a necessary skill in our life journey, a skill that requires continuous improvement, and I am willing to devote time and energy to this skill. It's a beautiful process, and even more so after watching the movie.

  • Alberto Crespo: [performing on stage, Salavdor's "Addiction"] I thought the strength of my love would defeat his addiction. But it wasn't so. Love isn't enough. Maybe love can move mountains, but it isn't enough to save the person you love.

  • Dr. A. Galindo: Do you have a new project?

Salvador Mallo: Yes. To improve my quality of life.
