Antonio Banderas won the Best Actor Award in the main competition unit of the 72nd Cannes Film Festival with this film. This time the old handsome guy finally won the award with his strength. He was not a person who lived by his face, but he has been losing money because of his face. A testament to a good actor. I love Antonio Banderas, especially in this dying movie. He succeeded in capturing me again.
The protagonist of the film, an old director and screenwriter (played by Antonio), may be the director's autobiography. What way does the director use to present his (artist's) glory and pain is most in line with the artist's own gentle disposition Woolen cloth? Spanish director Pedro did it, and I really liked this movie. When the protagonist of the movie was about to dry up in his creative state, a screenwriter's heart was still stirring under the cover of inaction, and he even used his most disdainful way to try to continue his creativity. The encouragement and companionship of friends, the passionate comeback of companions, the unexpected appearance of lovers, the continued influence of mothers, and the letters from childhood friends gave the screenwriter the confidence to pick up the pen. The director uses such flashbacks and narratives to make the story process closely connected between reality and memory, full of love. The hearts of the characters are vividly and three-dimensionally displayed. At the end of the film, the film is immersed in great love. Life can always be that colorful painting, and when the dust of time is uncovered, it can be refreshing. The open ending makes the artist himself feel happy and has a good temperament.
Youth is gone, but memories are not gone. This is the great emotion carried by images, pen and paper, and it will always exist as if coming back.
