Wong Kar Wai finally told a heartwarming story this time. Say goodbye to the fragmented separation and integration, quit the lonely tobacco and alcohol, the lighthouse that has not been exiled, and take off the cheongsam stained with sorrow. The background of the story came to New York, a key restaurant. Jude Law's handsome profile tells one story after another about leaving. The blueberry pie that no one paid attention to lay lonely in the window, waiting for the fate of being abandoned by the owner at any time. Elizabeth smiled softly and said I wanted it. The perfect combination of cream and blueberries tasted really good on her. So Jeremy is right, there's nothing wrong with the blueberry pie, it's just people make other choices, you can't blame the blueberry pie.
So you know, the blueberry pie not being chosen is not the culprit. Everyone has their own taste and destiny. Just like Elizabeth who packs her bags and insists on getting farther and farther away from New York, working and walking, busy life in order to save money to buy a car, the reason is until there is nowhere to go. Those colorful postcards are not just obsessed with Jeremy. These stories of love and waiting, the ultimate belonging is redemption. Portman, with his usual brooding smile, wandered around in his brightly colored sports car. Rebellion and loneliness are intertwined, and finally I understand the heart of the man who kept scolding the son of bitch. She has been challenging the bottom line of trust, and Elizabeth is always pure and willing to trust everyone around her. Probably because of her naivety, she was able to return to her original place without hindrance.
The ending is so beautiful. The woman who had been away for more than 300 days returned to the key restaurant and ordered a new plate of blueberry pie. They are equally intelligent individuals, so they can wait until the day they fit. Jeremy kissed the cream from her lips in her sleep, and it was all clear again. It wasn't hard to cross that street after all , it all depends on who's waiting for you on the other side.
Because you were waiting, so I could come back.

My Blueberry Nights quotes

  • Elizabeth: Why do you keep them? You should just throw them out.

Jeremy: No. No, I couldn't do that.

    Elizabeth: Why not?

Jeremy: If I threw these keys away then those doors would be closed forever and that shouldn't be up to me to decide, should it?

Elizabeth: I guess I'm just looking for a reason.

Jeremy: From my observations, sometimes it's better off not knowing, and other times there's no reason to be found.

    Elizabeth: Everything has a reason.

Jeremy: Hmm. It's like these pies and cakes. At the end of every night, the cheesecake and the apple pie are always completely gone. The peach cobbler and the chocolate mousse cake are nearly finished... but there's always a whole blueberry pie left untouched.

Elizabeth: So what's wrong with the blueberry pie?

Jeremy: There's nothing wrong with the blueberry pie. Just... people make other choices. You can't blame the blueberry pie, just... no one wants it.

  • Elizabeth: [wiping her tears] How do you say goodbye to someone you can't imagine living without? I didn't say goodbye.

    [pause]

Elizabeth: I didn't say anything. I just walked away.
