The plot is boring, the spirit is commendable

2017.1.15 Take a look. The story is quite boring, but because the popularity is still there, I still insist on fast-forwarding and watching it. Aunt Mei's acting skills are really beyond reproach, and the parts that are out of tune should not be able to act so realistically without practicing. In Aunt May's interpretation, I think she knew about Bayfield's affair. The kindness of the characters, the courage to dare to pursue dreams, and the optimism are quite heart-warming. But I can't say I love this character, I can only say that the spirit is commendable.

I think I admire the love between Jenkins and Bayfield, Jenkins is terminally ill, but Bayfield still takes care of Jenkins despite having a woman outside, taking care of her carefully and not letting sarcasm and criticism appear in Jenkins' life. Jenkins' reliance on Bayfield, Bayfield's care for her, even if she is terminally ill, no longer young and beautiful, or even has no self-knowledge, she still carefully cares for her, it can be seen that they really love each other deeply.

In addition, I really like the sexy woman who shouted for Jenkins when she sang in front of thousands of soldiers. When she appeared on the stage, she thought she was a character who made the plot interesting, but she cheered for Jenkins when everyone laughed and cheered. Very warm.

Florence Foster Jenkins quotes

  • St Clair Bayfield: Are you fond of sandwiches?

    Cosmé McMoon: Yes.

St Clair Bayfield: Good, good. Madam Florence is inordinately fond of sandwiches. And potato salad as well. When we throw parties we make mountains of the stuff. It would serve you well to consume both with enthusiasm.

    Cosmé McMoon: I shall.

  • St Clair Bayfield: If you can forgive Madam Florence her little eccentricities, you'll find her to be a most generous and delightful person. Ours is a very happy world.
