Passionate performance, no regrets at the end

It's not a comedy, it's a tragic laugh. There are two impressive main lines in the film, one is Florence's insistence on her dream, and the other is Claire's inclusive love for Bonnie.

The portrayal of some small characters in the film makes the film richer and more intense. Mrs. Stark, a frivolous, disrespectful figure, laughs and lacks manners in Florence's first performance, yet it is his loud reprimands and encouragements at Carnegie Hall that make Florens The show went on. Such a strong contrast before and after makes these little people vivid and impressive.

The portrayal of some details in the film is very brilliant, such as when Claire and Florence are hugging each other in bed, outside the quilt, and some portrayals of the pianist, which add a lot to the film.

Florence has been kept in the dark all the time, ignorant of his singing performance, and yet at the same time he has fallen back to a heavy reality as he reaches the peak of his performance. "People may say I can't sing, but no one can say I haven't sung." Although the rumors are strong, I have no regrets about this trip. Probably this is the truth revealed to us at the end of the whole film.

There are people who love her deeply, people she loves deeply, friends, and dreams. Although the final result is not very happy, Florence probably has no regrets in this life.

Florence Foster Jenkins quotes

  • St Clair Bayfield: Are you fond of sandwiches?

    Cosmé McMoon: Yes.

St Clair Bayfield: Good, good. Madam Florence is inordinately fond of sandwiches. And potato salad as well. When we throw parties we make mountains of the stuff. It would serve you well to consume both with enthusiasm.

    Cosmé McMoon: I shall.

  • St Clair Bayfield: If you can forgive Madam Florence her little eccentricities, you'll find her to be a most generous and delightful person. Ours is a very happy world.
