Me and your Portland.
Me and your Romagna.
And, my own Idaho.
The film's narration of "me", MIKE, is about love and wayfinding. Mother is my Idaho, but in reality, my Idaho is the long, empty, rough road, and my mother's intentions point to a void. In the end, what I found was my own Idaho.
The film's narration of "you", scott, is about unruly and growth. Childhood rebellion and the return after encountering love, who knows whether there is a more determined love behind this cruel return.
In the final analysis, we cannot completely touch other people's things, let alone require and standardize them. The happiest thing in the world is to walk a road happily with you. It's just that I'll be miserable too. At Bob's funeral, we'll show you how happy we are. In my own Idaho, I would fall in agony again, be stripped clean and meet new fellow travelers. Life is so ups and downs, like a wilderness.
It's just that I hate that people's hearts are not as good as water, and it makes waves in a calm and peaceful way.
