Yesterday, when I heard "She wanna live like common people" when I listened to Common people, I didn't know why I thought of this movie, probably because Keanu's character background in it was in stark contrast with River's, so I decided to take it out for a second look. Also male prostitutes, Scott is the mayor's son, rebellious for rebel's sake, and Mike is the result of incest between a brother and a mother, the former can move forward and back, the latter doesn't even have a choice. Every time Mike with narcolepsy wakes up in various places and he says "If I had a healthy family and a good education maybe I wouldn't be in such a mess right now (presumably what that means)" It's heartbreaking, so when he wakes up in Scott's arms, I always hope it's a harbinger of a happy ending. Unfortunately I was wrong. Perhaps the director did not deliberately exaggerate the sadness, but River himself played too much into the drama, which made me mistakenly think that he was Mike at all. Keanu was extremely handsome when he was young. Although his character was unrestrained, he and River's aura of good and evil was just in harmony, and it could even be said that the attack was obvious. I especially like the clip of River's confession by the campfire. It is said that the confession was written by River himself, full of inferiority, and kept saying It's okay, but unfortunately Scott just gave him a hug. The final monologue, "I'm a connoisseur of roads. Been tasting roads my whole life. This road will never end, it probably goes all around the world." , and hope that Mike will wake up in a warm embrace next time.
