I love the title of the movie "My Own Idaho". Through the name, I seem to see the small town under the morning light, quiet and gentle, the breeze blows, the grass and trees shake, and the air is filled with the hot and dry breath of summer. Under such circumstances, I walked slowly, on my own path.
By the name of the movie "My Own Idaho," everything about Idaho is my own. For Mike, it was a soft and memorable dream; for Scott, it was yesterday, an unforgettable memory. Mike's life is heartbreaking. Without the company of parents, living alone, the disease often occurs. It could be said that his life was a grey one, with a thick fog permeating the surroundings. He's gloomy, especially when he thinks back to his childhood, but he's strong, trying to live on. Then, he met Scott. Scott would take off and cover him when he was in a coma, would play pranks with him, and would accompany him on a long and unknown journey to find his mother. And Scott is wanton, dashing, charismatic, ready to live a "normal" life. In this way, a close friend who gave him warmth and love and was full of charm, naturally became the person he admired. My favorite part is the confession, it's so cute! You know that I do love you. After speaking, hug yourself tightly and shrink into a ball, like a dog who has done something wrong. After confessing, he is afraid that he will not be able to bear the consequences, and foolishly avoids reality. Scott refused, but still gave his best friend a hug and comforted him. At least that moment was beautiful. A lot of people say Scott betrayed Mike, I don't think so. Scott's tenderness is based on the relationship of close friends. He clearly said: Men and men are fruitless, and he has always said that he will go back to inherit the family property. Even said and men are just for money. All indications are that they will have no results. Mike knew, but he couldn't help it. Scott made up most of the very little he had in life. But they are different after all. Like two intersecting lines, when they meet at the intersection, they drift away.
There are a lot of interesting little details in the movie, but the last and most memorable for me are the two funerals. Scott attended the mayor's father's funeral, solemn, solemn, and cold. And the friends in that ridiculous time attended the funeral of his other "father" who was abandoned by him, noisy, presumptuous, and crying loudly. Differences between people, before life and after death, do not change. Scott frequently, looked there for a long time, but couldn't join, and couldn't go back to the old days.
As in Xu Zhimo's poem:
You and I meet on the dark sea
You have yours, I have mine, direction
you remember
best you forget
The light that shines on each other at this meeting
