Five feet is the length of a billiard cue in the movie, about 1.5 meters, and Stella and Will are holding it to keep a distance from the cue. Their love seems to be holding it like a billiard cue, elusive. When they say good night in the video chat and fall asleep with each other, even if they are separated by two wards, they seem to be lying in each other's arms. When Will gave the nearly breathless Stella artificial respiration in the ice and snow, even if it was their first hug, it seemed so far away, so far away that it was life and death. Two people in love, but can't hug, can't kiss the feeling sucks.
This movie reminds me of normal people again. Connell and Marianne's relationship is also elusive, but they are too insecure and miss being together countless times. On the contrary, Will and Stella are much braver, trying to get closer to each other but having to be separated by love.
It's good to live, to live is to enjoy everything, to pursue hard, and to express bravely.
