The beauty and elegance of the upper class come at a price. The price is when the foundation you rely on is shaken, destroyed, and disappears. What greets you is the trap of the general fate of "the sky has fallen".
But in the end, a conversation between the priest and Jacqueline gave us a ladder to climb out of the trap.
"Why are you here?"
"Because I want to talk to someone"
"You said you pray to God every night that you want to die. Your children are of no use to you. Your only wish is to let you go with your husband. However, I don't plan to let you die today. There was such a time. A person wants to seek some meaning, then he will realize that there is no result at all. When you reach that terrible and inevitable realization, you will either accept it, or you will commit suicide, or you will simply give up Looking. I have spent my whole life happily. However, every night when I climb into bed, turn off the light, and look into the darkness, I am curious, is this all?"
"Are you curious?"
"Every soul on this planet will be curious, and then at dawn, we will all wake up and burn a pot of coffee"
"Why should we bother?"
"Because we just know how to worry, and we will do it tomorrow morning. God has used his infinite wisdom to ensure that the amount we worry about is just the right amount."
"I should be able to guess that the white-headed old man is too extravagant, and it is the same to witness our children grow up."
"The darkness may never disappear, but it won't be so heavy forever"
