Finding hope in a chaotic life

Seeking hope in a chaotic life, this is the general impression of Dolan's films so far. I watched "Lawrence of Two Sides" before, and this one is also.

For more than two hours, I have exhausted the bonds between relatives, loving each other, and hurting each other. Makes me cry, it's so real.

Steve is a distressed child, his rude rebelliousness hides his loneliness and sadness, he doesn't know how to relieve the unbearable grief of his father's death, so he uses his own way, he is not a child who is prone to depression , then be irritable, and vent out together with his mother's sorrow, but hurt himself and the relatives he is most afraid of hurting. After the death of his father, the mother and son depended on each other for life. Steve's own sadness is self-evident. What he is more afraid of is that his mother is injured. When the taxi driver insulted his mother, when he saw through the man who wanted to help him and his mother, it was not because of Kind, but trying to sleep with his mom when he fell into madness again. He loves his mother, and is afraid that one day his mother will no longer love him like this, and leave him just like his father. He is capricious, irritable and irritable. In his own way, or in a childish way, he questioned the injustice of fate. He desperately longed to be free, to break the damned bondage that made him feel so miserable.

Isn't everyone in the movie? Steve's mother who is working hard and strong, a neighbor with aphasia... Also, we, everyone in this world, have our own sufferings, but we also have hope.

Reminds me of Zhang Ailing's words: "There is no relationship that is not riddled with holes." And the holes may be caused by people's true understanding of each other, but the word "understanding" is simple to say, just how to do it. Disaster!

Alas, when I need to understand but can't, I use a sentence to remind myself repeatedly (forgot who said it) to ease the distress: the difference between relatives, lovers and others is that they can't understand you, but they still love you. Children only want to understand, adults only care about love.
