A movie-watching experience that is enough to crash the audience

The debut works of the two brothers are not superb in my opinion, but the scripts, performances, and scene scheduling are all ingenious, allowing the audience to follow the camera and feel what is unexpected and reasonable.

I watched the 96-minute version and shared two things that I find wonderful: 1. The sound of the wiper at the beginning of the film, the beeping sound of Marty’s computer from time to time, and the buzzing fan in Roy’s living room. These background sounds were manipulated by the director. It’s very good, constantly building a tense atmosphere, oppressing the nerves of the audience, and making us almost collapsed; 2. This is what I saw from Roger Ebert’s film review: the blood maze cleverly integrates our daily lives The three major nightmares of China, never wipe the blood stains clean, after committing the crime, but not knowing whether the crime has the anxiety of others' insights, suddenly realized that I had overlooked a detail and felt that it might have caused a big mistake.

If the above two things happen in our daily lives, I dare say they are enough to make a normal person upset and nervous.

Blood Simple quotes

  • Abby: I said, "Marty, how come you're anal, and *I* gotta go to the psychiatrist?"

    Ray: What'd he say?

Abby: Nothing. He's like you, he doesn't say much.

    Ray: Thanks.

Abby: Except when he doesn't say things, they're usually nasty. When you don't, they're usually nice.

  • [grabbing Abby from behind after breaking into Ray's house]

Marty: Lover boy really oughta lock his door. Lotta nuts out there.
