It's beautiful, helpless, and utopian

Nowadays, you can only watch films from the film festival. This Saint Denis film did not disappoint, but I don’t know if the film festival will be able to continue as the film festival becomes more and more popular.

After watching the movie, I discussed with Mr. Yi what the focus of this movie is. Mr. Yi thinks that he is concerned about marginalized groups and the education system for children, but I think it is the helplessness of utopian dreamers. People's education and reflection on modern society are naturally integrated. There is no Hollywood style or even some independent film dramatic twists, and there is only a dull and ambiguous ending. People can be as paranoid as the father in the film, but just like the lines in the show, many people envy them for being able to truly live in the forest.

I moved to the UK two years ago, maybe because I had a car, maybe because the isolated island of England is far away from the European continent, or I was tired of social network-style travel punch cards, and I didn’t even need to pretend to be aloof, but in fact it was simply because of poverty. Having no money to go to tourist destinations outside the UK (spending money to a small Mediterranean island is just as nice), started frequent camping vacations. Camped in Scotland, Wales and National Parks large and small around London for two years.

Mr. Yi's favorite is the campsite at the foot of Ben Navi, Scotland. Surrounded by mountains, it feels like a secluded mountain forest. And my favorite place is Snowdonia, Wales. It rained for two nights. I have always liked rain. Maybe I think the closest thing to nature in modern society and not uncomfortable is rain. Listen at night. The raindrops fell on the top of the tent and fell asleep with great peace of mind. At this time, there is no Internet, no news, no need to keep up with the world, and no need for friends. Probably friends are mostly for sharing, and this time there are no more The desire to share, I feel like I have also become a drop of rain, existing and disappearing.

But apart from these good things, the most memorable is a campsite on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Scotland has many cultural traditions. In addition to being rich in whisky, it is also rich in highland midges. The campground looks very primitive and natural. Powerful Muggles, everyone wants to get close to the river, but after dark, these little mosquitoes that like the humidity will fly all over the sky, and the thickness can block the front view. Even when I went to the toilet, I was bitten by a few bags on the buttocks. When I came back to the tent, the little mosquitoes also got in, which made me tortured all night. Originally, we wanted to go to the whisky cellar the next day. We had to get up early in the morning. Running away, I had to roll down the car window to speed up and take advantage of the wind to blow the mosquitoes out of the window. I asked the uncle in charge of the camp how to prevent mosquitoes. The British may really die if they don't joke). Although this experience did not dampen our courage to continue camping in the wild, we did not dare to blindly challenge unprepared wilderness survival.

The camping that I like may only cut off the troubles caused by modern civilization very briefly. In the film, the father and daughter lived in seclusion in the forest for several years. For an ordinary person like me, there would be no such thing in nature. I am irritable and people-related on weekdays, but I always worry about many details, such as self-loathing without bathing for many days, such as the anxiety of girls not having sanitary products during menstruation, such as dry and torn skin in the cold and windy, such as It's like wearing outdoors all year round, etc., and in the worry of eating, drinking, and Lhasa all day long, it is estimated that spiritual freedom cannot be achieved. But even if you can't fully overcome these minutiae, it is necessary to cut off the impetuousness of modern civilization and occasionally return to nature.

The big one is hidden in the city, and the small one is hidden in the forest. Although I can't even endure the hardships of being a little hidden in the forest, not to mention the feelings of a big hidden in the city, should I weakly accept the institutional norms that this society has arranged for us? At least fight a little bit, even if you don't fight, you need to reflect. Life in the forest is so beautiful, but there are also many frustrations. After the struggle, you may not be able to persevere to the end. Even so, you will still believe that there are others who realize this utopian dream. Respect and help those who insist on our dream can be regarded as A counterweight to the system.
