I think I lived in an atheist family in a broad sense since I was a child. Of course, this so-called broad definition is also my own definition: I have no religious belief, but if I was scared when I was a child, my mother would go to the bridge to call for a soul or something. So in contrast, atheism in the narrow sense means not believing in anything related to ghosts and gods.
Maybe there are no people who really don't believe in anything, at least I haven't met one, including me of course.
Everyone should have a sense of reverence, otherwise there will be no bottom line and rules. Reverence for life, reverence for nature, and reverence for experience. Or rather, a kind of respect. Then there is conscience, goodwill, inner peace and contentment. This sentence seems familiar, but it does not necessarily have to be a believer to say it. So I don't believe that a god created all things, and I don't believe that good and evil are rewarded, but I can believe that doing good to others, at least I have peace of mind. Hmm...correct it, be kind to good people.
Of course, in life, there are always a few days when you will encounter obstacles that you cannot overcome. When you are at a loss, there is nothing wrong with dragging God over to entrust it and confiding in it. Anyway, I know that I usually ignore him. If something happens, I will send a message "Are you there?" No one bothers to care about you. So I didn’t have any extravagant hopes that God would come to save you, to rely on yourself, and to comfort yourself. After self-entertainment is over, pat on the thigh again, and try to get over that hurdle.
As for those who use gods to make money, to be honest, they have nothing to do with gods. Don’t people who swindle and deceive under the guise of science also fill the WeChat Moments? Good Christians are as lovely as good atheists, and ugly science guardians are just as jerk as ugly gods.
There are also friends around who attribute the I Ching to science. I haven't researched it, maybe it makes sense. But whether it is science, metaphysics or theology, whether it is doubting, believing or touting, it is good to maintain respect and awe, retain goodwill and bottom line, persist in the longing for life, and stick to the well-being of your family. Easy and not easy.
