still prefer mature women

I thought that in the face of youthful flesh and the temptation of incest, I would be quite confused after watching the film. But, on the contrary, I don't feel anything special.

The film's erotic undertones have been reduced to a minimum, set off by Ennio Morricone's lyrical and deep soundtrack. I can't find any other provocative shots other than Dominic Swan's swaying sexy feet. Soft light, nostalgic tones, exquisite shots... This is simply a pure romantic film!

Without having read either Nabokov's original work or Kubrick's older version, any critique of the 1997 edition of Lolita would appear both theoretically and unreferenced—though , Not every movie review needs reference coordinates, but unfortunately, "Lolita" in 1997 cannot escape the influence of the two masters and exist independently.

And I belong to this situation now (translated Lin Yu Xiaodan bought and borrowed the translation, Kubrick did not buy the old version). So, there's not much to say about the movie right now.

Maybe when I get to Hobert's age, I will feel more deeply! After all, compared to mature girls, the latter is undoubtedly a more deadly temptation for me now...

Compared with the Kubrick version (1962), there are more colors. Jeremy Irons’s delicate and bold performance makes his contradictory heart believable; Dominic Swann has the stupid appearance of an American precocious girl on her face, but unexpectedly makes her sexy look amiable. The first half is lively and vivid, and the second half is affectionate and sad. It's rare that a movie like this "injures the morals" will be so moving.

"I looked at her, looking at her again and again, all my life, with all my heart. The one I love the most is her, I can be sure, as sure as I am going to die. The flower-like nymph of those days, now only the dead leaves are left to return to their hometown. Pale, mixed She is vulgar, bloated, and the flesh in her belly belongs to someone else. But I love her. She can fade, she can wither, she can do anything, but I only look at her once, and all the tenderness comes to my heart."

  • Humbert: From here to that old car you know so well is a stretch of twenty-five paces. Make those twenty-five steps. With me. Now.

Lolita: You're saying you'll give us the money if I go to a motel with you?

Humbert: No, no, no. I mean leave here now, and come live with me. And die with me, and everything with me.

    Lolita: You're crazy.

  • Humbert: What are you eating?

Lolita: It's called a jawbreaker. It's supposed to break your jaw. Want one?
