The photography's emphasis on the various angles of the two gun barrels on the battleship is too psychoanalytic, the title of the film should be changed to Potemkin, the bird walker (so Potemkin did not walk the bird when we saw the final peaceful liberation passing through the Odessa fleet ), with the exception of the first scene where the sailor rides on the gun barrel to clean it, where the gun barrel is not used as a symbol of masculinity, but as a direct metaphor for the officer-sailor power relationship (what does it symbolize? I'm not going to say it outright = =). With Eisenstein's virtue of directly inserting yellow jokes in "Alexander Nevsky", I believe that it is not impossible for him to do such a thing.
