my tully

Just watched the 2018 American comedy film Tully and wondered where the comedy elements are throughout? The overall tone of the film is relatively depressing, even despairing, and because I had a big brain hole when I watched it, I had the illusion that it was a suspense thriller in the middle.

Some people say that this is an anti-marriage and anti-pregnancy propaganda film, but I am still terrified when I am not married. Not out of fear of a future that might end up in marriage, but because I'm also Marlowe's age. It is true that I am not like Marlowe, a mother of three children, one of whom is also suffering from bipolar disorder, the other who just fell to the ground, crying day and night, and my husband, who is busy with work, naturally throws his hands when he gets home. The shopkeeper, without any support, can only support, and live a devastated life every day, on the verge of collapse and hysteria. I have a stable job, a regular life without pressure, and I live by my parents who are selfless and dedicated to their children. However, I have the slack and lazy mental state of Marlowe who lives a boring day-to-day life and loses his enthusiasm for life.

Marlowe asked Tully: "Why are you younger than me, but you think more mature than me?" Tully replied: "Because I'm only 26 years old, I have a lot of time to think about the meaning of life." In fact, Marlowe does not It's just that she doesn't have time, or because she has lost her desire to explore the world, her thirst for knowledge, and her curiosity, which have all been wiped out by the same, repetitive life. And as Marlowe himself said, "I thought I was dissatisfied with the world, but I was just dissatisfied with myself." Living like this, there is no blame, but I can only be more frustrated with myself.

Tully asked Marlowe, "If an old boat gets a new lead sheet every day until one day it's completely replaced, is it an old boat or a new boat?" Marlowe replied, "It's a new boat." Yes , Marlowe and that youthful, charming, free-spirited, optimistic Tully are two people. Marlowe was able to find Tully for a short time, and with her help, he regained his radiance, organized his life, and faced the mess. But Tully only plays the role of building bridges, and he will leave when the task is completed. Therefore, in the end, no matter what kind of life, Marlow still needs to face it himself, without spiritual support and no dependence.

Marlowe's Tully can still say to Marlowe: "Thank you for keeping me alive." And will my Tully have been killed by me in the process of mental aging? My 30-year-old has arrived on time like a garbage truck at 5 in the morning. The so-called free soul has become unattractive and has begun to appear ugly. Where have I left my Tully? I miss her.
