A River Runs Through It
I was interested in this film because I saw a photo of Robert Redford and Brand Pitt that looked like father and son.
The whole story is calm, like the big river in the film, which still flows through no matter how old it is. Although the plot at the end can feel a little abrupt. But in retrospect, this may have been life. In any case, I have always felt that Dahelian's film is philosophical.
People can't help but think of the lyric "a big river with wide waves" that is familiar to every Chinese son and daughter. The lyricist of the song said that the reason why the Yellow River is not used in the lyrics is that each of us will have the Yellow River in our childhood, but There is a big river.
I think the big river in this film means the big river in our hearts.
I can't forget a line from the movie.
"We can love completely without complete understanding."
This sentence has always reminded me to think about our intimacy, whether it is family, love or friendship.
Suddenly I realized that there is one thing I have never noticed: the dear people around us (parents), and the people we want to love (lover, friends), are always people we don't know. Yes, it really happened. Conversely, our parents, they don't really know us.
It's a bit counter-logical, it's too delicate to be ignored, but it's very important.
Since then, I have been reflecting on, what is intimacy? what is love? What are the conditions for love?
Because we can love with all our hearts people we don't know, and even things that don't exist.
One day, we will also grow old, make us dream, will it still be the person we loved? Will it still be the river in my heart?
“I am haunted by waters.”
