The two brothers often go fishing with their father. The gurgling river, the quiet afternoon, became the most unforgettable moment between father and son. His father was an old pastor who often preached in the town, and his eldest son Norman (Craig Sheffer) inherited his father's business - he was good at teaching, and returned to his hometown to preach and teach after graduating from college. Younger son Paul (Brad Pitt) has a very different personality - he loves freedom and has a peculiar way of fishing. The worry, however, is that he became addicted to gambling and owed money and was beaten.
After Norman got married, he received a job offer from the University of Chicago, and before he left home for Chicago, he enjoyed fishing again on the big river with his father and younger brother. He persuaded Paul to leave here with him, but Paul was obsessed with fishing and did not want to leave. Unexpectedly, this is the last reunion.
