A natural, comforting story

To be honest, The Secret Life of Pets 2 was quite uncomfortable when I saw it in the middle: I don’t know how the three independent stories will come together, will there be a conspiracy, and what kind of animal protection dilemma will the tiger involve?

None of the above came up, and I was relieved to like this little rebellion against the traditional routine.

Generally speaking, movie stories always follow the pattern of "emerging contradictions", "seeking methods", and "resolving contradictions". But Max, the protagonist of The Pet 2, has been living in the country and gaining courage under the guidance of the old dog Rooster, before taking part in the final action. The suspense of sacrifice in exchange for a sloppy ending. Although the details cannot be carefully thought about, at the moment of watching the movie, in the production of this "pet" + "animation", we must look for the realism related to animal protection.

Let's talk about the other two lines, Snowball's story line is better than the superhero character set (rabbit set?) and the previous bully image, as well as the series of action scenes when saving the tiger; the Gidget part, in addition to continuing to maintain the above A ZZ correct hardcore female image, the rest are full of benefits for "cat slaves"! The laughter that the red dot scene gave me was totally worth the price.

The climax part has nothing to say, can't think about it. As an unintended audience, it's like watching a magic show. All the details, scenes, movements, if I can feel the intention, I'd still be willing to be fooled by the magician at that moment.

The part where all the cats are dispatched reminds me of the part in Rick & Morty's Parallel World TV where the cat pretends to be an old lady and goes on a date with someone.

Finally, let’s talk about the shortcomings, the confusion about the plot direction in the early and mid-term: there is a little parent-child, there are superheroes, and then a little country trip, Gidget went to pick up the bee ball, I really thought there would be some serious conspiracy involved... Is it really appropriate for that tiger to be completely cat-like?

There is also the most regrettable, in the end did not give the Rooster lens that taught Max to grow up. Rooster's voice is so good, it's a canine Hemingway.
