This is a drama with many pits, and Lei Dao dug more pits in the last episode. I still have a lot of confusion in watching Alien Cataclysm. Science and religion are not always opposites. The reason why people invented religion is largely to make up for the lack of humanities brought by science.
The original teachings of religions are generally beautiful, and they carry the simplest expression of human self-confidence in their own civilization.
However, religion is also hypocritical. Under the functions of human egoism and pragmatism, it has gradually derived into the policy of the upper-level rulers to fool the people and the way to control the minds of the masses.
From the point of view of this play, Mithraism is more like an ultra-conservative hierarchical group system covered with religious exclusivity. It has obvious hierarchical divisions: Sol God >> Clergy> Soldiers. This extremist organization has displayed advanced science and technology opposite to its conservative ideas - and this is the most contradictory point of Mithraism.
Generally speaking, from the perspective of traditional religious and scientific warfare, science represents advanced nature, and religion often has the intention of derogating science. Therefore, why Mithraism is able to lead the army of atheists in such a "religious" situation is a very thought-provoking question. Fortunately, the show gave them the answer:
