Written in the front: Some analysis of all 26 episodes of TV, not involving the old theater version, focusing on the analysis of characters, classic plots, and themes
Chapter 1: The Apostles Attack
Eva's first episode is fast-paced. The director did not choose to use astonishing length and lengthy dialogue to express the world view like fate zero, but chose the attack of the apostles. The protagonist Shinji Ikari was forced to sit on the first plane to meet the enemy. A seemingly unremarkable, but fast-moving script.
A few words:
1. Katsuragi Miri
Miri appeared in the form of a postcard. There was a bright red lip print on this postcard, which showed Miri's outwardly "open" attitude from the side, and a scene in the car seemed to show Miri's playfulness, but in fact it has been In introducing the theme of eva's performance in Miri: Miri's complicated relationship with her father.
2. Several sub-mirrors
The most amazing storyboard should be the debut of the first machine, which is indeed an epoch-making storyboard.
I think the most notable is the silhouette processing of Shinji, Misato, and Ritsuko, which is very cool. Skills such as silhouettes are also used many times in later clips (maybe to save money)
3. The appearance of Rei Ayanami
Ayanami appeared in a bitter way, which forced the protagonist to go to the first machine. Although she was only a tool person in this section, she strongly attracted the attention of the audience: a beautiful and seriously injured person who looked like a human being A girl who has a desire to protect.
4.The theme of eva
From the first episode, the director pointed out a theme of eva: taking responsibility and avoiding responsibility, parents' expectations for their children
The scene in which the commander forced Shinji to board the first plane is directly replaced by the parents forcing their children to study / go to university / find a job / get married, without any sense of disobedience.
In fact, the director is here to express this theme, the fathers who have achieved success, pass on the responsibilities and greater expectations that they have assumed to the new generation. I believe that if you watch this paragraph, you will immediately get a strong sense of substitution, because many of us have been imposed such huge expectations and responsibilities.
Chapter 2 Unfamiliar, the ceiling
The title of this sentence is a famous stalk: unfamiliar, ceiling, and this sentence also created another stalk: runaway
The director's mind is very fancy: he did not choose to directly show the scene of Shinji's No. 1 aircraft fighting the apostles, but started from Shinji looking at the ceiling in the hospital and continued to hide the suspense;
At the same time, a lot of expressions of Misato's concern for Shinji (although it is difficult to say that she really cares about Shinji at this time), using Misato to apply to take care of Shinji, Misato driving to show Shinji the fortress city, Shinji and Misato eating together, the three parts gradually penetrated Worldview: This is a fortress city built to fight against the apostles, and the protagonist Shinji is responsible for protecting the city.
At the same time, it also portrays Miri more (no wonder the ruffian said that Miri is the first heroine). One of the jokes is worth pondering: "I'm not interested in children." This is a half-hearted joke. .
After explaining this, he chose to enter the battle screen. This battle scene has created a famous stalk: runaway, it also burns a lot of funds, and the fighting scene is full of punches, which can be called a model of action drama.
At the end of this sentence, it ends with a sentence from Miri: "You have done something worthy of being praised by people", which is very meaningful.
The protagonist Shinji is very eager to be affirmed by others, and this sentence means a lot to him.
Look at him lying on the bed, does it look like a student who occasionally gets high marks in the test gets praise? But he is still skeptical about himself and getting on the first plane. Although he is very eager for the affirmation of others, he has no self-confidence in himself, so although he is happy with Misato's praise, he still holds Great doubt.
And Miri's praise, is it really out of sincerity? Or is it out of thanks for Shinji's revenge (beating the apostles), or out of a compliment that Shinji is her tool (she's the war minister)? It's hard to judge here, it can only be said that Miri's feelings at this time are complicated.
Chapter 3 The phone that doesn't ring
This is a more instrumental story. When it comes up, Shinji practiced attacking the apostles like brushing the questions first; the plot is also relatively old-fashioned "no fight, no acquaintance", which leads to Dongji and Kensuke, two good friends of Shinji in the future. It's too much, but there are two points worth analyzing:
1. The Porcupine Dilemma
This is a theory thrown out by Ritsuko: the interaction between people is like a porcupine for warmth, two porcupines get close to each other to keep warm, but they hurt each other;
This is another important topic for eva to explore: how do people enter into and maintain intimacy (friendship, love)?
The porcupine dilemma also gives us a revelation: Do we tend to be more than polite to strangers in our lives, and sometimes harsh to those closest to us? Although it is out of the original intention of wanting to warm each other, they often hurt each other, love each other and kill each other?
2. Shinji's Disobedience
Misato was the head of operations and issued an order to retreat. At this time, Shinji had a rare outbreak of personal heroism and defeated the apostles in disobedience. Disobedience on the battlefield was a big mistake, and why did Shinji do this at this time? Probably Dong Er who beat him was in the first machine. He wanted to show his heroism to Dong Er, or the accumulation of previous battles, training, and Dong Er's beating him made him angry. Full, there are two possibilities.
But here we can also see that Shinji is by no means the "trash" some people call him.
Chapter 4 Rainy Night, After Escape
This is very important.
Because this sentence simultaneously expresses the themes of "Porcupine Dilemma", moral kidnapping and coercion (that is, what I said earlier about parental expectations), and the special relationship between Misato and Shinji has undergone qualitative changes since this sentence.
Shinji clashed with Misato because of his disobedience. Logically speaking, it was Shinji's fault here. He naively thought: "It doesn't matter, just win." Arrogance, which is all too normal for teens.
Misato's "don't force it": Misato mentioned many times in this sentence that she would not force Shinji to drive, but she also knew in her heart that there was no candidate to replace Shinji, so she sounded like "if you don't want to do it, don't do it", "and. It doesn't matter to others." She didn't seem to force Shinji, but deep down she still hoped that Shinji would be a "man", obey her orders, and continue driving. She still wanted to use Shinji to complete her revenge against the apostles, but she didn't want to show her coercion on Shinji.
Seeing this plot, we can continue to substitute. The feelings of many parents are actually the same as those of Miri. On the one hand, they really don’t want to force their children to learn this and that, to get good grades, etc. There are countless parents who say that “the child is healthy and happy”, but in fact they and Like Misato, deep down she still has great expectations for her child, expecting him to achieve something that he cannot achieve.
Therefore, Misato was in a conflicted situation, neither wanting to force Shinji, nor really letting him leave, and she couldn't convince Shinji to continue driving.
Misato experienced the "porcupine dilemma" here. The more she wanted to get close to Shinji, the more hurt and forced him.
Actually, Misato and Shinji are the two most similar characters in eva, almost completely symmetrical. (more on this later)
In the end, the director arranged a very Shinkai trolley scene. Misato and Shinji faced each other across the track and finally reconciled.
This scene can be said to be very old-fashioned but also very romantic. From this moment on, the relationship between Misato and Shinji has risen to a new level. We can't simply analyze the relationship between the two characters from the relationship between the boss-subordinate, big sister-younger brother.
From the beginning of this scene, the two symmetrical characters of Misato and Shinji have added an element of love and family affection to it.
Chapter 5 Rei, the back of the heart
This remark is the home ground of Ayanami Rei, an important figure who was recuperating before.
First of all, it was explained that the runaway of Unit 0 led to the injury of Ayanami Rei, and the always cold commander actually injured her hand in order to save Ayanami Rei, which made the audience wonder, who is the commander's child? Why does the commander attach so much importance to Rei, but another attitude towards Shinji?
At the same time, Shinji's thirst for father's love and concern for the commander can also be seen. He observed the burn on the commander's hand. (Of course, this is mainly for ambush)
The seemingly friendly relationship between Ayanami and the commander can't help but make people suspicious, and it also makes Shinji feel double trouble. Why is the commander being so good to Rei?
After that, there is a very "house" episode. The scene of Shinji going to Li's house has been imitated by countless subsequent animations, and many famous scenes have been created, which satisfies the cool point of "house" and also connects the plot, which is very ingenious.
Then the apostles attacked, and Shinji was shot in advance to prepare for the next episode.
Episode 6 Decisive Battle, 3rd New Tokyo City
This episode was a small climax, and the famous scenes continued, and the famous "Ayanami Rei's Smile" was born, which is an extremely exciting episode.
Shinji was shot by Thunder Angel in advance, and Misato and Ritsuko made a new battle plan.
Ayanami Rei visits Shinji in the ward and passes him a new battle plan. Seeing this, I have to feel sorry for Shinji, it is really full of tool person attributes.
The subsequent climax of the plot continued:
Ayanami made a promise when changing clothes: "I will protect you", showing the firm determination of Li, a girl who looks like a robot;
Next is the dialogue under the moon. This dialogue is very important, because the two drivers began to discuss the core theme of why they opened eva. Ayanami said that it was for the bond and the bond with everyone. The topic of why eva is opened will be discussed repeatedly in the future.
The famous scene "Ayanami under the Moon" has a beautiful composition.
The battle with Thunder Angel was an innovative long-range battle. It was the first time Ayanami and Shinji cooperated, and it was very exciting.
However, the climax did not stop there. After Shinji defeated the Thunder Angel, he did exactly the same thing as his father, opening the hatch to save Ayanami Rei. Ayanami also gave him the most beautiful smile in return.
This episode is the climax of the first half of Eva, and it is also the episode where Shinji and Ayanami begin to truly bond.
As an artificial human, the inevitable question that Ayanami faces is: Who am I? What kind of existence am I? Is the other Ayanami Rei me?
This actually has to do with many concepts in philosophy: ego, id, superego, whether two identical people are the same person.
Let's just say here, through fighting side by side with Shinji, Ayanami Rei's attributes as a "human" have been significantly enhanced, her emotional bond with Shinji has also deepened, and she has gone further in her pursuit of the meaning of her own existence.
Chapter 7 The Man-Made
This sentence has a special flavor of a unit drama, showing two points, one is the suspicion and myth of artificial intelligence; the other is the complex struggle within human beings;
The first is a cohabitation scene, which continues to show that the relationship between Misato and Shinji is heating up;
Another department produced an unmanned eva-like combat weapon, which will be displayed publicly for the first time; Ritsuko debated passionately with the developer at the conference but was constantly ridiculed; the weapon suddenly lost control, and Misato and Shinji worked together to save the car and stop it further escalation of the situation;
However, Miri finally told us that it was not her efforts that had an effect, but that the loss of control and recovery of this weapon was a conspiracy of Commander Ikari. In order to compete for more funding and voice, Commander Ikari sent Ritsuko to secretly destroyed.
So saying this reflects the director's skepticism of intelligence (so easy to be manipulated), satire of the political system (look at the bureaucrats who play the ball when asked for a password), and portrayal of human struggle (in order to compete for funds, the commander does not hesitate to covertly For such serious damage, Miri almost died)
Chapter 8 Asuka, Come to Japan
In this story, another heroine is present, Asuka. At the same time, there is also an important role, blessing.
Asuka is a character worthy of analysis, not only because of her beautiful appearance, arrogant personality, and many stories with Shinji, she is also a typical character, which we will analyze later.
The main content of this sentence is that in the process of transporting the No. 2 aircraft, he was attacked by the apostles, and Asuka and Shinji worked together to annihilate the apostles.
In this sentence, Asuka's character image can be said to be on the screen. She has shown an open attitude towards Shinji from the very beginning (inviting Shinji to drive in Unit 2), she takes driving eva very seriously, so she does not hesitate to start Unit 2, which is still in transit, to show her ability; She is very bold and does not hesitate to show her proud and sexy body and so on.
Through the arrival of such a character, we will usher in a more joyful few words eva, which cannot but be said to be a happy thing.
Chapter 9 Moment, Heart, Overlap
This sentence is a story of the rapid development of the relationship between Asuka and Shinji. The two learned the importance of cooperation and coordination through training, and defeated the apostles. The battle scenes and soundtracks are classic.
The point here is actually two:
1. Asuka's attitude towards driving eva
As I mentioned earlier, Asuka has deeply bound her self-worth to eva, which is even more so than Ayanami, who has been exploring "who I am".
After Rei and Shinji cooperated well and she ran out of the room, when Shinji chatted with her, she said something like this: "The only way I can go is to drive an eva."
At this point, we can relocate. Is Asuka’s remarks similar to what many of us say today, “there is only one way to take the college entrance examination”?
It is easy for us to deeply tie our values to a certain thing, and if this one thing we are good at is no longer good, our values will collapse completely.
2. Shinji's feelings for Asuka
Earlier I saw an analysis that pointed out that Shinji's feelings for Asuka are carnal.
I think this view is only half right. If it was carnal, why was Shinji able to hold back that close kiss?
Therefore, Shinji's feelings for Asuka can't simply be regarded as lust. When you come into contact with people who are not easy for you to contact: Commander, Misato, and Ayanami, there is a cool girl from heaven who will take you on an eva fight. Strange, to cooperate with you and live with you, how can your feelings for her be simple sensuality?
Therefore, I think that Shinji was able to hold back the kiss at night, and said: "Obviously he is still a child." This sentence shows that he has a campus love for Asuka. In fact, he has no relationship with Xiang. Before the collapse, his relationship with Asuka was more like the most normal couple relationship.
Chapter 10 Molten Stalker
This is actually a bonus.
Except for the swimsuit welfare links at the beginning and end, the battle scene is quite novel. Asuka faced the enemy alone, and Shinji finally rescued her, which also made Asuka have a deeper affection for Shinji.
Chapter 11 In Still Darkness
This sentence is a sentence of reflection on science. At a time when the level of science and technology is advancing by leaps and bounds, which brings great convenience to our lives, this sentence is still worthy of our thinking.
At the beginning of this sentence, the deputy commander's remarks on the subway attracted attention: "The city council is a pretentious thing. The real decision is MAGI, and it is a democratic system composed of three supercomputers."
That is to say, the politics in the play has been replaced by supercomputers to some extent, which shows how high the level of technology has reached.
However, there was a big reversal, such a high-tech headquarters was so embarrassed by a power outage.
Under the leadership of the commander, he finally succeeded in manually launching the eva, defeating the apostle.
The end of this episode is one of my favorite episodes in eva. The three of them are lying on the grass and enjoying a happy time. This episode is very similar to the under-the-moon chat between the three protagonists in "Attack on Titan". All are sweet scenes.
What's even better is that the director uses dialectics here to analyze the meaning of lights and technology to human beings, and finds that the stars are so beautiful in a blackout night; and human beings use fire to survive because they are afraid of darkness.
Perhaps we should take the same view towards modern technology.
Chapter 12 The value of miracles is
This sentence belongs to Katsuragi Misato, explaining the background of Misato's past.
As we said earlier, Misato and Shinji are two symmetrical characters in the play, and they are also the most similar characters.
This sentence explains why this is the case, because both Misato and Shinji grew up with a huge lack of fatherly love, which is widowed parenting."
Misato's father was absent from Misato's entire growth process because he was obsessed with research, causing Misato to hate him; and during the second shock, his father gave up his chance to survive and protected Misato; these two dislocations made Misato Her feelings for her father are extremely complicated. On the one hand, she hates him, and on the other hand, she loves and respects him.
The plot of the party is more interesting. The other children are very lively, and only Shinji and Misato are on the side. It seems that "the joys and sorrows of human beings are not connected, I just think they are noisy", once again see Misato and Shinji How similar these two are!
Both of them are not very comfortable with the lively scene, and they are not so happy when they are affirmed by others.
In the process of fighting against Sina's apostles, because the commander was absent, Miri was in full command, and she showed her excellent command ability. There is a detail in it. After asking Rei in Chapter 6, Shinji took the initiative to ask Asuka what the meaning of eva was. We can see that Shinji was confused about the meaning of his own eva, so he been exploring.
And Asuka's answer to him is: "Show talent, brush the sense of existence", which once again confirms that Asuka attaches great importance to eva, because her self-worth comes from this. How she looks like a top student whose only goal is to get into Tsinghua University and Peking University!
In a passage where Misato and Shinji came to the mountain again after the party, we can not only feel Misato's complicated feelings for his father, but also feel that Shinji can understand Misato better, and thus have a clear goal of his own: "I can't escape. ."
From Miri, he gradually learned to take on his responsibility: to defeat the apostles. This has to be said to be a huge improvement for Shinji.
After defeating the Sina Apostle, the commander praised Shinji for the first time here, and Shinji's performance was 400% flattered. Although Shinji yearns for the affirmation of others, what he desires most is the affirmation from his father.
Next is the episode of eating ramen. Considering Miri's wallet, several children gave up steak and chose to eat ramen, which is really sensible. This episode is very tender, and fans who don't want to be abused can watch it repeatedly for healing.
This is very informative, and I would like to say a few more words. That is, as a parent, if you watch this drama, you should better understand how much your child hopes for the sincere affirmation from the parents! This is much more precious than buying for him, coddling him, and so on. Therefore, learning to discover the advantages of children, and give sincere affirmation and encouragement to ideas, is really beneficial to the parent-child relationship without any harm.
There is another point, which we will discuss in the following pages, that is, it is best for people not to tie their own values to the same thing, otherwise they will suffer great pain when their dreams are disillusioned. That is what happened to Asuka. .
Chapter 13 Apostle, Invasion
This is a sentence belonging to the strongest programmer Akagi Ritsuko. As a programmer, I silently praise it.
It can be seen that the rhythm of the ruffian is very perfect, each episode has a protagonist, and the background of the whole story is gradually infiltrated through the fragmented memories of the protagonist. This is a very clever technique, far better than fz. This kind of practice that directly plugs you 40 minutes of worldview.
The protagonist of this story is Ritsuko Akagi. As the technical leader of the entire NERV, Ritsuko has strong technical abilities, and in this episode, she unlocked the secret of the supercomputer MAGI: MAGI was developed by Ritsuko's mother and is composed of her three personalities. It has laid a lot of groundwork for the subsequent story of NERV's family history.
In these words, the apostles' intrusion in the form of network is very novel and very advanced. In the Internet age, we do have the risk of being attacked and invaded by the network. Continue to reflect the director's thinking about technology.
Ritsuko solved these problems by herself very handsomely. And the last sentence she said was thought-provoking: "Respect her as a mother, but hate her as a woman", what does this mean? See you later.
Chapter 14 Seele, the seat of the soul
This sentence seems very inconspicuous, because the first half is the total episode, and the latter part has a large stream of consciousness, so even some viewers will choose to skip this sentence.
However, what I have to make clear is that the stream of consciousness is the soul of eva, and it is also the most prominent part of eva that is different from other excellent scripts. Although there is a suspicion of saving money, the ruffian uses the stream of consciousness in eva to be proficient. More and less. In contrast to his later work "His and Her Story", he obviously tasted the sweetness and used the stream of consciousness too much, which affected the viewing experience.
The first is the introduction of SEELE, the big backstage of the parliamentary NERV. We are also in a fog here. The Dead Sea documents and the script must be analyzed against the plots that follow.
In the experiment of swapping the body (previously, I always shouted to let Rei go to open the first machine, but I didn't actually get there), which opened the first stream of consciousness of the film. This stream of consciousness belongs to Li, and it actually reflects the philosophical speculation I mentioned earlier: "Who am I? How do I perceive the world? What makes me me?"
As an artificial person, Li's perception process of the world is biased towards materialism, but it is very difficult for her to explore the existence of herself. She does not know who she is or who created people.
Next, Shinji sensed Rei Ayanari in Unit 0, which led to Unit 0's rampage. I still don't know why.
Chapter 15 Lies and Silence
This should be the turning point of the whole eva, and it is also the most explosive episode, the episode with the richest and most moving plot, at least I will definitely brush this first when I brush more.
Since this episode, eva's plot has taken a nosedive. There is no more unit drama or the slightest color of warm drama, and it goes straight to eva's most depressing theme.
The first thing to notice is the scene where Shinji watches Rei twist the rag and the scene where the two of them are in the elevator. In fact, Shinji's words are relatively simple. He can't help but feel the temperament of his mother in Rei, so he couldn't help but say the inappropriate words that you are very suitable for being a housewife; The solution to her bad relationship with her father cannot avoid asking Rei, who has a good relationship with her father.
And Rei's feelings for Shinji are complicated. She gradually developed her own feelings from the initial android. At first, all her feelings were given to the commander: because the commander cultivated her and saved her.
And when Shinji appeared, Rei tried more to make up for her lack of emotion as a person. She learned to smile, blush, miss Shinji, etc. Asuka is the pilot of No. 2 aircraft, there are obvious differences)
Therefore, Rei is pursuing a change from an android to a human based on Shinji, and her feelings for Shinji are continuously rising.
Next, analyze the conversation between Misato and Shinji in the bedroom. This part is Miri's sermon time: she strongly emphasizes not to run away, and to those who do not take the first step, nothing will change. In fact, Misato was trying to restore the father-son relationship between Shinji and the commander from Shinji's side, but she chose to preach.
Has Shinji listened? He listened a little. Although he hated his father very much, he also desperately longed for his father's love, so he did not take the previous countermeasures (escape), but chose to go to the grave with his father, and Shinji continued to grow.
Shinji has grown up, but the commander has not. A scene of the commander in the cemetery continues to hint at his special affection for his wife, who hardly cares about anyone but her.
Then there is the popular idol drama plot: fly me to the moon
I have to say that this scene is too romantic, and it took 30 years to explode all kinds of trash idol dramas. The soundtrack, storyboard, and seiyuu are impeccable. This scene is Miri's confession to Blessing, that is, Miri's feelings for Blessing, lack of love and more substitutes, so she chose to break up eight years ago; here Miri herself He also repeatedly emphasized: I escaped like Shinji, and once again saw the sameness between the two.
Blessing is undoubtedly in love with Miri, but Miri doesn't love Blessing enough. Her feelings for Blessing are 30% love and 70% of finding her father, which can be said to be very Freudian. And this kiss from blessing not only stopped Misato from continuing to talk (because he didn't want to accept the fact that Misato didn't love him enough), but also gave Misato a strong signal. (I love you even if you don't love me enough)
Analyzing this scene in this way makes it even more romantic. Even though Miri doesn't love Blessing so much, Blessing is still willing to love her.
The most explosive and most talked about scene is the kiss scene between Asuka and Shinji (the barrage is about to explode), this scene is very exciting, because the ruffians are happy and generous enough to really let them kiss (many guessed to be interrupted), and kissed long enough.
I have to say, ruffian, only you know the audience best!
Let's analyze why Asuka suddenly lowered her head and offered to kiss. Is it really "boring"? And whether Shinji loves Asuka or not, why is Shinji not willing to give Asuka a hug to make the kiss continue to heat up (as the incense party wants)?
The reason is obvious.
First, Chekhov said that if a gun appears, the gun must go off. The ruffian had arranged a kiss scene between Shinji and Asuka who was close at hand, but it was unsuccessful at that time; then if this hole is not filled, I am afraid the audience will not let him go.
Second, Asuka's feelings for Shinji.
Asuka loves Shinji. Although she always said that her favorite is blessing, she also understands that blessing does not love her at all, in fact she does not love blessing, her feelings for blessing are similar to Miri's feelings for blessing (blessing is so miserable).
And Asuka has always had a good impression of Shinji, like a campus love, and invited him to open her most precious second machine when they first met. Isn't this a good feeling?
Many details after that can show that Asuka always pays attention to Shinji and loves Shinji. For example, she almost always told Shinji several times in her friendship ("I only have one way to go to eva"), she pays close attention to Shinji and Ayanami. Relationship, (this is a very young girl), she appreciates Shinji's talent (playing the cello), and even she likes to live alone with Shinji ("It's just the two of us tonight").
In short, Asuka loves Shinji in the way of a normal adolescent girl.
So in this rare alone time, and she was really lonely, she boldly chose to ask for a kiss.
Third, does Shinji love Asuka?
This question should be an issue that all fans can fight. Whether it is the Miri Party, the Xiang Party, the Li Party, and the Kaoru Party, they all insist on their own opinions. Personally, I don't think Shinji loves Asuka enough, but can't say he doesn't.
There was no doubt that Shinji had a crush on Asuka.
Because Asuka is the only normal person so far (has not shown her flaws to a large extent), and has the most enthusiastic attitude towards Shinji, cooperates with Shinji the most, and lives with Shinji, Shinji has a good impression of Asuka of.
But he doesn't love Asuka enough. The fact that he was at a loss when kissing was not entirely because he was young and shy, but also partly because his feelings for Asuka were not strong enough. If they were strong, then Asuka followed up with enthusiasm for blessing and said to Shinji: "It's because I kissed you." Wait, Shinji should be very angry, but he didn't.
What Shinji longs for is comfort from Asuka, or what he hopes is that he can act like a spoiled child in Asuka. Therefore, Shinji did not choose to take the initiative to give Asuka a hug that can directly fast-forward the relationship, because he was protecting himself (fear of being injured) and his feelings for Asuka were not enough to break the wall of his heart.
Chapter 16 If you die, then
This episode combines the plot, the big battle scene, and the wonderful stream of consciousness. It is a very rich episode. I will analyze this episode with three points.
The first point is that Asuka's character flaws surface.
In this remark, Asuka was scolded badly by the barrage. It's true that she repeatedly yin and yang is weird, which makes the audience's perception of her bad. We pay attention to the sentence Asuka said: "What's the use of getting a perfect score in the mock exam?", and her response to Rei's sentence: "Not to let others praise her, but to let herself praise herself."
Earlier, I repeatedly compared Asuka to the top student in the high school class, who hit the first place in Qingbei. In fact, it is true. Asuka's synchronization rate has always been the first before; she has always considered herself to be the best eva. The driver, proud of it; she repeatedly said, "I have only one way to go by driving eva", and she linked her self-worth 100% to eva.
Then it is not difficult for us to understand why Asuka, who was warm, friendly, and a little arrogant before, behaved so abnormally in this sentence. Because she lost the first place in the synchronization rate (just like someone who has been taking the first grade in the grade and suddenly was kicked out one day), and even more angry, the person who replaced her was Shinji who she still liked, On the other hand, Shinji is usually not very prominent and not very hardworking, just because of his talent or his relationship with his mother. (Imagine being the first place, being replaced by the usually mediocre underachiever that I like, how angry I feel, and the head teacher is still the father of this underachiever, and his mother who presided over the exam also helped him answer the questions. !)
Therefore, I think Asuka's performance in this and the following series is understandable. The most unbearable thing for her is to lose eva, lose the first place, lose the opportunity to praise herself, and lose her self-worth. What is especially unbearable is to be surpassed by a Shinji who likes and who usually only admits his mistakes and who goes through the back door.
What the ruffian is showing us here is that Asuka is also a child with character flaws. She sees her self-values too simply and too narrowly. In fact, even without eva, isn't Asuka still a cute, sexy and generous good boy?
Second, the wonderful stream of consciousness.
After Shinji was captured by the apostles, the stream of consciousness started again. This stream of consciousness is wonderful and not difficult to understand. In fact, this stream of consciousness asks a few questions: Can't avoid the annoying things? Can't you just do happy things? Why does Shinji long for his father's love so much, but his father doesn't give it to him?
There was a Japanese drama "Escape is Shameful But Useful" in China, which was very popular. In fact, the ruffian here is also asking such a question: is it useful to escape? Do you want to escape?
Both Misato and the commander have repeatedly instilled in Shinji: escaping is impossible (but ironically, the biggest evaders are the two of them), and they must bravely face things when they encounter things (open eva, repair the relationship with the commander)
And Shinji's doubt is, can't you just do the happy things and avoid the painful things? There really isn't a definite answer to this question. The commander told Shinji not to run away, but isn't he running away from Shinji himself? Misato told Shinji not to run away, but isn't she also running away from the truth that she doesn't love Kachi enough?
Therefore, whether to escape or not is actually a dialectical issue, which depends on the individual's choice. Has our protagonist, Shinji, really escaped a responsibility that didn't belong to him? No, in fact, most of the apostles were defeated by Shinji. He also went to visit the grave with his father. He was also trying to repair the relationship with his father. Social contact, is it too harsh to criticize his avoidance? Those who criticize Shinji for not being enough Long Aotian and think that Shinji is too cowardly and cowardly, should they substitute themselves and think carefully?
On the contrary, if given enough love and affirmation, then Shinji may not avoid procrastination, and will act faster to annihilate the apostles and communicate with people as Misato, the commander, and the audience expect.
All in all, a person should bravely assume his responsibilities, which is a beautiful character; and when he chooses to escape because he cannot bear it, we should not criticize too much, and even a lot of escape is because the love given is definitely not enough, and the love given is not enough. Caused by too much preaching and pressure, this is the theme concept that the ruffian wants to convey!
Third, the relationship between Misato and Shinji
The point I held earlier was that Misato's feelings for Shinji were complicated, and this is more evident here. When Shinji's synchronization rate reached the first, she gave her affirmation: "You are the first." She rarely tolerated Shinji's domination on the battlefield, and her emotions fluctuated greatly when Shinji was in danger, and she even told her friend Ritsuko for this. Friendship broke the palm of the face; when Shinji came back, she not only did not criticize, but rushed up to hug Shinji and cried.
All of these reflect that Misato is no longer a simple boss-subordinate, sister and brother, and cohabiting friend for Shinji. She has both maternal love and love for Shinji.
Why is this so? Because according to research, we are most likely to fall in love with people who are similar to us (see "Intimacy"), and Misato and Shinji are the most similar people. (Miri herself talks about this many times)
And our Shinji didn't give it in vain either. He actually fell in love with Misato too (but I think it's more about Misato as a mother), the mother image that flashed at the end of the stream of consciousness is a woman with long hair, while Ikari has short hair, and Misato is He has long hair, so in Shinji's mind the person who rushed to hug him was actually Misato. He regards Miri as his mother.
Chapter 17 The Fourth Qualified Person
This is a relatively trivial episode, but the ruffian has mastered the rhythm very well. This sentence is also a relatively "saving" sentence, but the ruffian also handles it so that it does not degrade the appearance too much.
Analyze these points.
1. Rei's Transformation
In the previous plot, we have already felt that Ayanami Rei is an artificial person, but she is actively transforming into a human being. What is lacking is the cognition of the world (what is color? What is dream?) and emotion , In these words, she continued to change, and it was Shinji who prompted her to change.
She blushed and said thank you after Shinji had tidy up the room for her, and after Shinji left she wondered why she did it. In the process of getting along with Shinji, Rei Ayanami made up for the lessons she had missed as an android. But ironically, she is still a tool man for the commander, who uses her as the basis for his puppet system.
2. Bless good governance
In this play, if there is only one normal person with no psychological defects, it must be blessing. We need to pay attention to every word of the blessing. Every sentence is the theme, every sentence is a golden sentence, and every sentence is philosophical.
The author constantly expresses his views through the words of blessing, and the attitude held by the author is actually reflected on the role of blessing.
In this sentence, Kaji is flirting with girls in textbooks (actually for information), and a dialogue between him and Shinji is worth thinking about: "Knowing what pain is, can you be gentle with others, and this is different from being vulnerable. "
In fact, this sentence is also one of the thoughts the author wants to express. A person who knows what pain is, can empathize with others, can be truly gentle, and is by no means weak and incompetent. Gentleness does not equal vulnerability, on the contrary, correct gentleness can only be achieved by those with a strong heart.
3. The conversation between the commander and the deputy commander
This conversation is a very incomprehensible paragraph. It didn't catch my attention at first. On the contrary, the background picture of this conversation is very beautiful: the sunset of the third new Tokyo city, the last paradise of mankind, keep moving forward 's train.
This passage is actually an explanation of the background: human beings are fragile but possess the fruits of wisdom, and thus create the paradise of cities to protect themselves; the seele committees advance their plans according to the prophecies of the Dead Sea instruments.
4. Dong Er and the monitor
Seeing this, everyone can guess that the fourth person to open an eva is Dong Er. Analyze the pair. In fact, Dong Er is not a "straight man" and "single by strength" as the barrage said, but he has no energy and mood to respond to the squad leader's feelings.
When he learned that he was the driver of the next eva, and eva had caused his sister to be injured; driving the eva was a painful thing for Shinji; so at this time he was not in the mood or desire to start the eva, but He had to agree to go because of his sister's condition, his mind was low, and naturally he could no longer respond to the squad leader.
The monitor is a good girl and a normal girl. She has her own thoughts and is very considerate and caring for people. It's a pity that in a doomsday complex like Eva, she and Dong Er are destined to usher in a tragic ending. But fortunately, Dong Er gently agreed to her bento, which was enough.
Chapter 18 The choice of life
There are many conflicts, many disputes, and rich plots. There are many places to talk about.
1. Why is everyone hiding from Shinji, should they hide it from him?
Regarding the pilot of Unit 3, everyone except Shinji and Kensuke knew that the pilot of Unit 3 was Toji, but whether it was Misato, Kaori, Rei, Toji himself, Ritsuko, they were all without exception. Very tacitly chose to hide from Shinji.
Why did they choose to hide from Shinji so synchronously when they didn't communicate with each other?
There are two reasons.
First of all, everyone knows that opening an eva is not a good job, and they are often beaten for nothing. They also know that Shinji has a negative attitude towards opening an eva, and he will not accept his rare friend to do such a life-and-death thing.
Second, everyone knew that Shinji was a sensitive and sensitive person, and they were afraid that he would not be able to accept this fact.
But in the end, everyone's well-intentioned concealment led to a huge tragedy. So sometimes concealment of good intentions is just the kindness that I think it is. It is better not to conceal it from people you really trust. Sincere communication may not solve the problem, and concealment may lead to greater consequences when the truth is revealed.
2. Asuka is in this story
Xiang has been in a low mood ever since she learned in the last episode that the driver of Unit 4 is Dong Er. This is because she is proud of opening an eva, and she has always believed that only a genius can open an eva, and both Shinji and Rei can open an eva through the back door; and now Dong Er, who is neither a genius nor a back door, can open an eva. eva, it is impossible not to deal a heavy blow to Xiang, further reducing the value of her existence.
Also, the twilight conversation between Xiang and the squad leader is interesting. (The ruffian likes to use dusk and sunset as the background, and at the same time loves to see the whole view of the third new Tokyo city from the perspective of the mountain)
In this passage, in addition to Asuka's words, her micro-movements are also worthy of analysis.
Asuka said that the three of them were idiots, and when the squad leader retorted that Shinji looked like a sensitive boy, Ka said he was also an emotional idiot, but at this time her micro-movements kept betraying her: she shook her legs frequently , the range of motion is also exaggerated.
This shows that Xiang has a high degree of favorability towards Shinji, and since the two kissed in Chapter 15, Shinji has not returned qualitative and deterministic emotional feedback, which greatly disappointed Asuka.
3. Blessing and Shinji's Night Talk
Every word of blessing is important. Fortunately, he didn't say much.
In this night talk, Blessing said the core theme of eva. (So eva is not difficult to understand, the author said it through blessing)
Blessing says: "People cannot fully understand others, and it is questionable whether they can even understand themselves. 100% mutual understanding is impossible. It is for this reason that people strive to understand themselves and others, so Life is fun."
I give this sentence 100 points, and this is the perfect composition sentence.
Someone once said that it's easier to endure loneliness than a fool. In today's society, many, many people live in silos. why? Because everyone is a different person, and everyone has a huge difference in origin, experience, talent, thinking, and wealth. Everyone's values, outlook on life, and world outlook are biased.
Therefore, it is impossible to ask two people to fully understand each other. No matter how hard people are in good health, they can't feel one percent of the pain of those who are sick; no matter how empathetic people from wealthy families are, they can't understand the plight of poor people who are trying their best to live every day; People with certain thoughts cannot reach agreement with people with other thoughts, no matter how much they communicate, they can only abuse each other, attack and ridicule each other.
So each of us is actually a porcupine.
The social attributes of human beings force us to be unbearable to be alone, very eager to communicate with others, very eager to understand each other, and very eager to get warmth from others; at the same time, the existence of this law makes us work harder to communicate with others. , the more likely it is to hurt or be hurt by the other party.
To give a few examples, such as the relationship between father and son, mother and son, husband and wife, these should be the most intimate, solid and mutually understandable relationships, but they often bring us great harm. How ironic! How many families because of the mutual relationship between father and son, mother and son
The lack of understanding between husbands and wives turns enemies into each other, leading to tragedies such as suicide of children or unsupported parents. Many families have a series of problems such as domestic violence and cold violence that eventually lead to divorce because of misunderstanding and harm between husband and wife.
So, are we going to refuse to understand with others because of this, and become an island directly?
The author also refuted this point of view, that is: because of this, we have to work hard to understand others and understand ourselves, so life will be fun. We can’t give up eating because of choking, because we are afraid of being hurt in interpersonal relationships and completely reject it. It is this process that is fun. From not understanding to 30% understanding, and then to 60% understanding, we don’t have to pursue 100% understanding. , and just need to increase the number, isn't it beneficial and fun?
This is a common saying: seek common ground while reserving differences.
In interpersonal communication, we should uphold this principle and seek common ground while reserving differences. We must allow the existence of differences and the existence of incomprehension. We cannot forcefully change other people's values, outlook on life, and world outlook; but at the same time, we can also seek to reach a partial consensus, and we can interact with others on certain issues. Partial understanding is achieved by seeking understanding, seeking help, expressing love and respect.
Of course, the author also gave another solution (seele's solution) in the later plot, that is, since everyone is so incomprehensible and always hurting each other, then everyone simply turns orange juice together, you have me and I have You, all fused together, don't you understand each other, no more harm?
We will discuss the evaluation of this scheme later.
In addition, I only talked about understanding others here, but in fact, the premise of understanding others is understanding yourself! To love others is to love yourself. If you don't love yourself, no one loves you. A person who does not love himself has no ability or qualification to fall in love with others and gain the love of others. This is another topic, and we will talk about it later.
4. Commander
Commander is an enigmatic man and a typical East Asian parent. (maybe western parents too)
In these words, the commander was ruthless and decisive. If there is no command of the commander, it is estimated that it has been completely destroyed. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand why so many people are fascinated by the commander, who looks very stupid.
The commander is not a good father, but he is a good leader with great ability. His ruthlessness saved everyone (though it was part of his plan), and his on-the-spot command was better than Misato's frequent whims and gambles. His thoughts probably also included "a lesson" for Shinji.
But the commander is really not a good father, because he also has the problem of not loving himself and others, but he can't say it or express it. He refuses people thousands of miles away from the beginning because he is afraid of getting hurt or hurting the other party. He is also an escape monster.
There is a saying in our culture that a father's love is like a mountain. I think the value of this sentence should be revised in modern times. Like a mother’s love, a father’s love also needs to be expressed strongly, otherwise, no matter how silently you love and how silently you protect, who will know! Maybe when you know, it is too late, it has already affected the child, and it is irreversible.
Most fathers are like commanders, upholding the idea of a father's love as a mountain, expressing their love and affirmation is a hundred and ten thousand times more difficult for them than climbing on the moon and picking the stars. This is actually a kind of extreme arrogance and self-righteousness of the parents, and there is also an element of laziness.
It is the commander's grossly unqualified fatherhood that leads to Shinji's lack of character that continues to cause conflict and tragedy in the plot.
Abandon the paternalistic and arrogant culture of fatherly love like a mountain, and turn to being an encouraging, affirming, guiding, and exemplary parent. Abandon the self-deception, self-intoxication, and self-moving culture of silent love, and turn to expressing your love for your children and your partner bravely, so that your closest person can feel your love, which will have an impact on his/her growth. huge positive effect.
Check out the blessing! Blessing is an example of being a father, look at his few conversations with Shinji!
But actually, I don't have high expectations for it. Even in my observation, the new generation of younger parents have not abandoned the traditional family dictatorship indifference style, or even more than that. Maybe this is human nature.
Chapter 19 The Battle of Men
The battle in this episode is very exciting: Rei's self-destruction, Shinji's re-boarding of the first plane, and the first plane's awakening are all impressive. The scene is big, bloody and touching.
Just analyze a few points.
1 Shinji's Revolt
In the previous episodes of Shinji, because of his flattering personality, he rarely expressed his dissatisfaction directly and rarely resisted.
But in this sentence, our protagonist Shinji has changed greatly: he bravely and steadfastly resisted the commander's ruthless actions, boldly resisted the commander's oppression and coercion, decisively refused Misato's kidnapping, and expected to put pressure on him. A firm decision to never drive an eva again.
Shinji's rebellion is a milestone in a child's growth path. Although he was not enough to resist the commander in behavior at this time, he was already semi-independent in spirit, and recognized the ruthlessness of the commander and the use of him, and the kidnapping that Miri had been betting on him. Behavior.
But he still chose to go back to the first plane to face the angel of power. Does this go against what he said and never use eva again? Is he trying to please others again? Is he doing what others expect again?
I don't think it's quite the case. Shinji's categorical refusal was real. His determination was also very thorough.
However, these two facts cannot be ignored.
One, Asuka's No. 2 unit was knocked down in front of Shinji.
Second, Rei Ayanari blew herself up like a kamikaze in the No. 0 machine.
The fall of two close comrades-in-arms forced Shinji to think and judge again. At this time, he was still hesitant: he really didn't want to board the first plane again, but two of his closest comrades in arms fell. He met the blessing in the melon field again.
Many people say that the few words of blessing here are also moral kidnappings. Is it not? I think qualitatively, yes, what the blessing said: "I can only water here, and only you can do it all; if the angel of force comes into contact with Adam of the central dogma, the world will perish; think for yourself, for yourself Judge, decide for yourself." These words are not essentially different from what Misato said we nerv bet everything on you.
If there is any difference, it is that blessings can speak! (No wonder he can flirt with girls, it's not for nothing.) The nature of the words is one thing, and what they say is another. The same words are said in different ways, and the degree to which others can accept them will vary greatly.
Misato said that we bet our dreams on you, and Shinji's response was: "This is really selfish." And the commander said that you are still running away. My reaction for Shinji was you son of bitch, but the same nature was passed through Jin. Shinji accepted the embellishments blessed by the King of Sentences.
why? Because Kaji wants Shinji to drive, but he doesn't attack Shinji, he doesn't say he escapes weakness; he doesn't put pressure on Shinji; he just presents the facts and adds: think for yourself, judge for yourself, do for yourself Decide.
This kicked the ball into Shinji's hands, so that Shinji understood that it really has nothing to do with others! Even if the world is really destroyed, the blessing will not say anything, the two of us will be the watchmen in the melon field together.
This changed the nature of the matter, and Shinji made this judgment himself. The reason why he went to open Eva again had nothing to do with the commander's coercion and Misato's kidnapping. It was out of his own will. He wanted to save the world, and he wanted to save Asuka and Ayanami.
So yeah, it depends on how you say it, it's really an art and a skill. What we are most disgusted with: "This is for your own good", "It's not for yourself", "Look at other people's children", etc. This series of parental popular language, in fact, are the two most common tricks used by Miri and Commander: Moral kidnapping and intimidation oppression.
And blessing, cleverly appending a sentence after the words of the same nature: think, judge and decide by yourself, you can reverse the negative color of this explosive language. Parents always unavoidably expect their children to do something, so why not learn blessing at this time? Getting others to do it in a more acceptable way is more effective than a commander-style forced attack or a Miri-style moral kidnapping. Isn’t this worth learning?
2. Local area meeting
At the beginning, Touji actually entered the classic stream of consciousness carriage of Shinji and Rei, and came to a small LAN meeting. There is nothing new in this LAN party, and it is exactly the same as the previous stream of consciousness, but Shinji's mind is growing: he realize
