I started watching Eva and watched the first episode.
It turns out that the source of such a hot mecha terrier is here! Can't believe I've only seen something so awesome today, oh my god. A lot of familiar mecha terms at the end, mental bolts, mental thresholds, etc., the first time I saw the original settings with pictures, it was very shocking.
After just 24 minutes of watching it, I realized that the level of sophistication of this show is far beyond that of most current anime. (Especially when I just took a look at Jingani's violet, I feel that many of the works represented by it are a layer of bright and beautiful appearance wrapped with a weak core, which is not atmospheric enough - a feast for the senses, tasteless to eat)
For example, in the first episode, the silhouettes of the three people on the elevator against the purple-red background are extremely restrained and coordinated in color, so simple and atmospheric that they are not like the two-second shot in the anime, but more like a conceptual PV full of design. Empty shots are often inserted outside the narrative: for example, when the apostles invaded, the first close-up was the empty city, the stopped train, and the quiet street. This terrifying silence is accentuated by the loud cicadas, and the language of the camera is perfectly used. In the abandoned city, the mysterious steel giant stands immobile, waiting - "I am become death, destroyer of worlds." The feeling of apocalyptic wasteland is overwhelming. What a god!
The three were not surprised to see a giant hand in the purplish-red liquid—I felt a little horrified. After hanging on for a while, I suddenly realized when I saw the huge body of the first machine. In the face of the huge setting, this unhurried way of narration is too hard!
The music also suddenly exceeded expectations. In the opening song, I've heard the phrase "cruel angel no よ う に, juvenile よ myth に な れ!" It's quite the lyrics of the middle two (I like it!). The soundtrack in the middle, such as war scenes, tense dissonant chords, and rich changes; ED made me stunned when I heard it, bossa nova, was the anime so trendy back then? Unexpectedly, the song fly me to the moon refreshed my cognition again!
The character relationship currently seems to be a more classic hero prototype: father and son become enemies. Speaking of which, the Fullmetal Alchemist, Lelouch, and the Attacking Giant all have a mysterious and skillful father, and the theme of the father-son dispute runs through. In order to become a hero, the protagonist must break the shackles of his parents. How will eva develop next? expect.
The scene of piloting the mecha to fight at the beginning of the second episode made me seriously suspect that Lelouch's mecha setting was stolen, alas. And Lelouch's quick storyboard that surprised me at the beginning of the first episode, did you also learn from Eva? There is another impression, so far Eva seems to have not played some stalks to please the audience, and has not made sexual suggestions, which is very rare (hope not to slap in the face). And Lu Lu Xiuming is obviously a passionate political show that can be understood by secondary school students. The plot and feelings are online, but he is still keen to please the audience. The female characters must undress, the male protagonist must open the harem, and there must be a happy extravaganza on Valentine's Day. Can't tell the story well!

Eva's lens language and film are at the same level! In the second episode, several very attentive scenes were shown in just a few minutes, such as the black and white treatment of the male protagonist when he lost his memory, the flexible division between the big sisters / the stubborn male protagonist / the broken city / Mirrors, and I love them - huge weapons hoisted up by cranes and draped across the sky. Sunlight filtered through the hole in the handle like a solar eclipse.
The enigmatic silhouette and long silence leave blank for this hugely informative story, but instead reveal more profound emotions, such as the fear and depression of the male protagonist after being hit hard, and the surging undercurrent of unhappiness when the father and son confront each other in silence. Generally speaking, in order to make the audience empathize with the protagonist, the inner world of the protagonist will be directly displayed to the audience through a monologue. Eva, however, boldly left blank and focused the camera on the thoughtful face of the protagonist for a long time in silence. On the countertop, it is very restrained.
Every painting of the elevator going up is like a poster design, completely unrealistic, very abstract, with harmonious colors. There is also the magnificent sunset of the fortress city's buildings rising from the ground, accompanied by the solemn brass music, which is completely an aesthetic experience. I really like to use axis symmetry in my paintings, and it is not deliberate at all (cue Grand Budapest Hotel). The overall Japanese-style simple and elegant futuristic aesthetic design is integrated.
Miri Katsuragi is in charge of buying meat, so I take back what I said yesterday. There's no way to escape this kind of bridge where a man and a widow live together in the same room.
The application of stream of consciousness is really amazing. The carrier of animation is not like novels. You can choose to flash back to the screen without resorting to words. The male protagonist flashed back many times, but as an audience, I still can't determine what actually happened and what logic these pictures are combined with.
The chorus of Cruel Angel's Action Plan is only 12 bars instead of 16, why...why only three times?
Ah.. a lot of religious symbols sneaked in. For example, after blasting the apostles, the shock wave formed a cross.
The picture is so neat! Even sacrificing the stereoscopic perspective of the object for the level/symmetry of the picture lines (especially when drawing a long pull-down lens, such as drawing a road), it is so beautiful! The colors are also so beautiful, very simple and impactful color matching!
The male protagonist is so gloomy, I have never seen any anime that set the protagonist so uncute. Every time the male protagonist fights on eva, there is not even a highlight in his eyes.
The Apostolic Invasion soundtrack is 4/5 beat drums, which is heart-rending.
The picture of Eva killing the No. 4 apostle with one blow is frozen in the silhouette of the fiery sunset, and the picture is absolutely amazing.
Now I feel like this story is about a lonely teenager's mind wrapped in the shell of an apocalyptic mecha - the emotion is too delicate, not like a hardcore sci-fi movie. Many meaningful stop-motion close-ups do not even have human figures, but clearly convey a certain emotion.
In the fourth episode, when I ran away from home, people came and went on the train, and finally I was alone. The changing lens is also very emotional. The sophistication of the color matching is really indescribable. When the lens has aesthetic value, it will suddenly change from a normal color to a two-color or three-color without hesitation. When the male protagonist ran away from home and was caught talking to Miri Katsuragi, the picture was divided into two precise halves, half black and half white. The male protagonist is aggrieved, withdrawn, escaping, and blends with the shadow, while Katsuragi Miri is shining, and the shadow falls on the floor tiles.
I was stunned. The scene at the station was frozen for 48 seconds. There was only one picture in the animation. It was as quiet as a still life painting. I could hear the summer cicadas, the background sounds of cars coming and going, and the sound of the train announcing the station. High-level long shots, quietly waiting for the fermentation of emotions, too advanced. Language has been unable to describe, this quiet flow of poetry. (However, a group of smart people in the barrage save money or something, it is really unpleasant)
In the fifth chapter, the first contact between the male protagonist and Ling Bo Li turned out to be such a silly routine... Fu forehead. Sure enough, there is still no shortage of meat.
The shape of the apostles is so random.
In the eighth chapter, the first submarine battle, the Antarctic melted under this worldview setting, so naturally many cities will be submerged below the sea level, and the details of the setting are reflected here.

Eva started with the stream-of-consciousness style, which surprised me.. But later (probably from episode 5), she started to follow the routine of fighting monsters with blood and picking up girls. It is quite satisfactory, you can drive fast forward to see it.

12 episodes, it is said that from this episode, it went straight down. At least seven or eight episodes have been spent in the front, and it is more conventional juvenile manga content. The male protagonist is happily in a dilemma between Asuka and Ayanami, fighting monsters and upgrading together, team building + ambiguity. It's not meaningless, it's a section where the character development is relatively concentrated and the plot progresses relatively slowly.
The 12 episodes started with great momentum, and the epic feeling came immediately. Fifteen years ago in the millennium, the apostles spread their golden wings on the earth, broke through the clouds, and swallowed mountains and rivers. At the beginning, it was the image of Noah and the Flood/Moses' swaddling clothes drifting in the Nile River; the sky seemed to have broken two big holes, the Milky Way was falling, and the end-time landscape was full of mythological implications. Nuwa mends the sky. There is also the image of the cross, which keeps recurring. Also, when the driver enters Eva, he must be immersed in a red liquid, and when he comes out, he will break through the small cockpit door - it is very similar to the image of the mother's creation in the womb.
The Antarctic (Hell) color scheme is so pretty.
Correction, the bgm of each apostle attack is not 4/5, but 3:3:3:3:2:2. (It is also the idea of Mission impossible soundtrack)
The backs of the three pilots in the rising elevator, and the behemoth that suddenly appeared in front of them, the beauty of the picture exploded again.
When the male protagonist is firm in his beliefs ("Escape げじゃだめだ!"), the stream of consciousness that flashes through his mind is also great!
The painting is really detailed. Although the number of frames does not seem to be as many as the current animation, the details and dynamic processing are ingenious, such as how the air blows the ripples of the wires when Eva is running; and when accelerating, in order to show the speed, the lingering afterimage is drawn, etc.— —It is indeed the way of drawing in ancient comics. Today's animations no longer express dynamics in this way, and at any frame, you will only see a still picture; but here you can obviously see the use of comic techniques to express speed, dynamics or explosion scenes, such as afterimages , reverse color, etc. I really like it!
The nuclear explosion scene is really nice, and I love the colors and shots (actually, it's really easy to paint, but it's better in an expressive ingenuity).
Alas, in fact, this is the first time that the male protagonist has fulfilled his duty as a wartime commander, without flinching, and with a firm belief. Pretty handsome.
The magic is that there is always background music playing outside - the soundstage is very different from normal bgm.

Damn, it's absolutely impossible to get up at 7:30... I went to bed at 12:30 last night and still couldn't get up at 9:30 in the morning.
Eva's quick ppt stream of consciousness is truly unique. Impressive and unintelligible images flashed quickly.
Every time I watch it, I don't skip the opening song, because it is really burning to cut the ppt with the music.
Eva has no bgm at every turn, only the background noise (cicadas, pop songs, machine sounds, etc.), a very special sense of reality.
Eating only half a corn for lunch is really killing me. In the afternoon, before the class is over, I am so hungry that my hands are shaking, my hands are dizzy, and I can't hold my cup. Instead, you need to eat snacks to save your life.
Went to the gym for an hour of running and watched two episodes of Eva.
In the 16th words, Eva let out the howl of a beast, broke out from the inside of the apostle, and the blood flowed into a river, just like Shura came into the world.
Sure enough, it's this familiar theme again - in order to defeat demons, people must become demons.

Run in the gym for 45 minutes, then do some anaerobic exercise like a joke.
Watched two more episodes of Eva while running.
In chapter 19, Shinji refused to drive the first machine and watched the explosion in the sky in Kaji's watermelon field. The aesthetics of the 14 minutes and 15 seconds of the picture is really amazing. The color scheme and composition are identical to Van Gogh's Starry Night.
Most of the 20 episodes "Heart の か た ち, 人 の か た ち" are drawn by stream of consciousness, as real as fantasy, confused and upside down.
Background music with a distinct soundstage and dialogue creates a distancing effect. This kind of background music is different from ordinary situations. First of all, it does not cooperate with the plot (that is, it is not used to set off emotions, etc.); secondly, its playback effect is like listening to the music in another person's headphones through headphones. The background music makes people feel that this music happened in the life of the characters in the play, but it gives people a very unfamiliar feeling, reminding the audience to watch a story that is out of reality through the screen.
An interesting little observation:
Since Japanese often avoids personal pronouns, words such as "he" and "人女" are not used because of impoliteness when referring to others, which can lead to the possibility of the listener being confused about the gender of the referent. For example, in the 21 episodes of about 5 minutes and 40 seconds, the two have been talking about a "Ikari-kun", but never used personal pronouns, deliberately misleading the audience. The audience will take it for granted that "Ikari-kun" is "Ikari-chan", the male protagonist 's dad. Unexpectedly, half a minute later, I saw that this "Ikari" turned out to be the "Ikari Wei" who had never met, the mother of the male protagonist. However, this deliberate suspense had to be dispelled in the Chinese translation (not to blame the translation! In fact, the Chinese translation of Eva at station b is very good), because if you want to translate into natural Chinese, you must use the personal pronoun "she" , because the subject cannot be missing in a complete sentence in Chinese.
But if it is dubbed in Chinese, there is a way to keep this little suspense - because the Chinese "he" and "she" sound the same, and it can also confuse the audience.
But it's different in English translation, and he and she are absolutely impossible to confuse. Americans can't understand the fact that Chinese students are easy to speak he or she. It is also the same reason that "ta" in spoken Chinese does not need to consider gender. In German, gender must be considered everywhere, and even neighbors must be divided into Nachbar (male neighbor) and Nachbarin (female neighbor), which cannot be confused.
It also confirms the point of view seen in "Words and Mirrors" before: the influence of language on thinking is that language will not limit you and prevent you from expressing certain things, but it will force you to express certain things.
Today, I saw the news that Boris's Brexit was tragically ridiculed, and I am curious about the government system in Europe.

It's Qiuchen and betty's birthday! I talked to Qiuchen about cockroaches, and I said that the cockroaches here are as big as mice. She said she knew the mice were as big as dogs.

Moved the amount of Eva for two episodes. The idea of mass-producing Rei Ayanami, who is an artificial human, is too advanced! (The "Blade of the Galaxy Empire" on Huai Shang, a galaxy mecha set by abo, I saw a lot of Eva stalks..)

After running for about 50 minutes, I watched the last two episodes of Eva. I'm so confused….
Too stream of consciousness, too Cryptic. It's definitely not suitable for watching on a treadmill. Therefore, the final central theme is that people should not live for others, and should not hate themselves who live for others, but should accept themselves and accept themselves, right?
