This kind of struggle is needed in today's social life

I always like to look for those old movies, those that many others have seen and commented on, because such movies are generally classics, and they contain great ideas and can arouse deep spiritual resonance or produce self-stimulation. debates, they will never appear outdated over time. In this regard, The Great Debater did not disappoint me.
In the film, several black students used their own language as a weapon to fight against white bullying and discrimination, and in the end, they won. Some people are full of praise for the inspirational effect of the film, and some people interpret it as a historical restoration. What I see are scenes of little people fighting for their rights. In fact, many things in life are similar to what was described in the film, that is, no one stood up and organized a fight. When the social legal system is not sound, no one can expect to receive all the protection and care they deserve. Someone should speak up and exercise their civil rights. Only then will the legal system be more complete, the society will be more advanced, and people will be able to enjoy more benefits and create a social environment that is more conducive to their own development.
Such a struggle is needed in today's social life!

The Great Debaters quotes

  • Melvin B. Tolson: Take the meanest, most restless nigger. Strip him of his clothes in front of the remaining male niggers, female niggers, and nigger infants, tar and feather him, tie each leg to a horse facing an opposite direction, set him on fire, and beat both horses until they tear him apart in front of male, female and nigger infants. Bullwhip and beat the remaining nigger males within an inch of their life. Do not kill them but put the fear of God in them, for they can be useful for future breeding. Anybody know who Willie Lynch was? Anybody? Raise your hand. No one? He was a vicious slave owner in the West Indies. The slave-masters in the colony of Virginia were having trouble controlling their slaves, so they sent for Mr. Lynch to teach them his methods. The word "lynching" came from his last name. His methods were very simple, but they were diabolical. Keep the slave physically strong but psychologically weak and dependent on the slave master. Keep the body, take the mind.

  • Henry Lowe: School's the only place you can read all day. Except prison.
