It's like a celestial red

A historical film and documentary in which black Americans win dignity and equality.
Commemorating Black Victory. Just like Chinese anti-Japanese films, red films.
Why are black people treated so unfairly? There is no introduction in this film, just because of skin color? Because black people used to be slaves trafficked from African colonies?
The black people in the film suffer from racial discrimination, which is the biggest contradiction in the film. The love between the two black debaters and the strong academic division of the protagonist's family means that they have the same beautiful pursuit and longing for a happy life as white people and other races. . Through their own efforts, they promote the equal rights of black people through knowledge, language and debate.
The laws are made, held, and used by people, and whether the laws are applied and implemented fairly and justly depends on people.
The contradiction between blacks and whites is just like the rich and poor people in TC. The money and power bully the poor and the disadvantaged, so that the lower class people are bound by the law. The behavior of the white people in the film is exactly the same as that of the TC powerful people. change it? Knowledge, language, debate, proper means.

A movie that feels very good. When I watch them debate, I will be excited. It feels quite inspirational.

We do what we have to do in order to do what we want to do.

The Great Debaters quotes

  • Melvin B. Tolson: Take the meanest, most restless nigger. Strip him of his clothes in front of the remaining male niggers, female niggers, and nigger infants, tar and feather him, tie each leg to a horse facing an opposite direction, set him on fire, and beat both horses until they tear him apart in front of male, female and nigger infants. Bullwhip and beat the remaining nigger males within an inch of their life. Do not kill them but put the fear of God in them, for they can be useful for future breeding. Anybody know who Willie Lynch was? Anybody? Raise your hand. No one? He was a vicious slave owner in the West Indies. The slave-masters in the colony of Virginia were having trouble controlling their slaves, so they sent for Mr. Lynch to teach them his methods. The word "lynching" came from his last name. His methods were very simple, but they were diabolical. Keep the slave physically strong but psychologically weak and dependent on the slave master. Keep the body, take the mind.

  • Henry Lowe: School's the only place you can read all day. Except prison.
