This film is his first self-directed and self-acted biographical film, which must reflect the overall strength of a filmmaker. There is no doubt that Denzel did not disappoint.
As a great debater, debating a given point of view, he must have strong persuasive ability and appeal of language, logic, clear thinking, concise and sharp language, and collect and remember a large number of truths and proverbs. From beginning to end, the appeal of language is explained everywhere. The weapon of the debater is his mouth, and the opponent of the debater is only the voice against the truth he says. A debate is a war. Whoever has advanced weapons and strong deterrence can lead the war, and whoever is weak and whose weapons are backward will lose the initiative.
In a debate, there is no right or wrong, no justice or evil, only the debater's own debate ability, method, attractiveness, and appeal. A great debater and speaker, full of wisdom, confident words, rigorous logic, full of magnetic voice, the charm of language, with a sharp mouth to persuade a voice against him. This is the power of language, this is why human beings invented language, this is the mystery of language itself, the appeal of language, and this is what I like about this film.
For this film, apart from the debate itself, what I value is the persistence, not whoever holds some bullshit opinion.
