Life is so desperate, who is pretending to be pure?

"Moon River/Always in my heart/I won't go with the waves/Wandering freely/The undulating river/The undulating moonlight/Singing as it flows/The river and the moonlight/Please tell me my God/What is good and evil please tell me/ I want to know / in the deep darkness / what is hidden"
When little Ignacio sang "Moon River", I searched for the word "Angel" to describe him, and the problem in the lyrics always haunts my mind. What is good and evil? What is hidden in the deep darkness? So when I saw Ignacio again, I knew that I would never get the answer to my question. The face distorted by excessive drug use is no longer pure and flawless. Extortion, selfishness, and crazy revenge. At this moment, I am breathing deep despair, just like the overall feeling of this film.
The film slowly unfolds one after another, why did Enrique react so coldly after seeing her first love? Are hotel passions and church trespassing a memory for Ignacio? Why didn't Enrique agree to Ignacio playing himself? The subtlety of the film is that the director only opens up a part of the truth every time, making you feel like you have understood the whole story, but he hits you hard in the next scene, making you unexpected.
So as Enrique leaned against the iron door and opened Ignacio's unfinished letter, I was finally convinced that it was really over. I wanted to cry, but my throat seemed to be strangled and I couldn't make a sound. I'm rethinking those two questions, what is good and evil? What is hidden in the deep darkness? I am still relentlessly looking for the answer, but what I found is despair or despair.
Ignacio makes me despair. The deceit and violation of the priest made him lose his love and faith, so he became fearless because he no longer believed in hell. He took drugs, cross-dressed, and lived the life he wanted. But when he got the news of Enrique, he regained his longing for love and future, and decided to stand in front of Enrique with a new attitude. However, he was killed by his own younger brother, and died with a longing for love and the future.
Juan makes me desperate. In order to get the role of his dreams, he did not hesitate to pretend to be his brother's name and sell his body as a guide. He was scheming and unscrupulous. After killing his brother, he did not realize that he committed a heinous crime. However, he is so beautiful, whether it is the youthful vitality of push-up dance, or the graceful demeanor playing Zahara, the beauty is despairing.
Enrique makes me despair. When he learned that Juan was impersonating his first love, he did not choose to withdraw, but did the fake show and immersed himself in the abyss of filming "Visit". He kept looking for Juan's secret, which he couldn't bear when the priest revealed it. Because he was already in love with Juan, he had to face the cruelty of the truth alone.
Despair is my answer, but also life's answer. When you thought that after all the truth was made public, all kinds of love and hatred should follow, but the director shook his head gently. No, the ending is that Juan became famous because of the play, Enrique continued to direct, and life is still that life.
So, we are hurt. We thought we were just watching a play, but accidentally saw life for what it is. In fact, why is it necessary to separate the two so clearly? We are watching a play, the people in the play are filming, and the people who are filming are acting again. Juan plays the infatuated brother, Enrique plays the self who knows nothing, the priest plays the messenger of God, and they both play the husband and father of others. You can't tell what is true and what is false. The kindness that you think is evil lasts forever, and the sin that you think is good is deep. But when you work hard to play every role, what you get is only deep despair and haggard. This is life.

  • Ignacio: I think I've just lost my faith at this moment, so I no longer believe in God or hell. As I don't believe in hell, I'm not afraid. And without fear I'm capable of anything.
