Knowing yourself can lead to a happier life

This film reflects a phenomenon in society from a new angle. The most fundamental reason for people becoming indifferent is because everyone has only themselves in their hearts. People nowadays never look for reasons in themselves, but blame all the faults on others. For example, Mrs. X is a good example. When she found out that her son no longer needed her, she did not think that it was because she did not invest. The energy is on the son, but it is felt that the nanny and the son are too close. On the one hand, she told Jenny that she was fine at home, and she could use things as she pleased; on the other hand, she installed a monitor at home to monitor Jenny's every move. Jenny chose this job in order to truly understand herself and what life is, and finally gained the friendship of love and Mrs. X, and the understanding of her mother. But every aspect is only mentioned. Getting along with the X family and falling in love with the rich family is a bit unclear. If it is considered a parallel relationship, the rendering is not specific enough.
However, the problem reflected in this film is quite profound. If a person is stuck in a state of ignorance of himself and cannot extricate himself, he cannot live well. The only way to live a happier life is to know yourself first.

The Nanny Diaries quotes

  • Annie Braddock: Okay Mrs. X, now it's time for a few simple childcare rules.

Jane Gould: Oh, alright, the teddy bear has been compromised.

Annie Braddock: Slamming the door in your kid's face is *not* okay. Spending more time on a benefit for kids that you've never met than you do with your own blood is *not* okay. Going to a SPA when your son has a fever of a hundred and four and not answering emergency calls, that officially makes you an unfit mother.

Mrs. X: This is outrageous. Stop the tape.

Jane Gould: Uh, no. This is clearly a disgruntled nanny. W-we might have something to learn here.

Annie Braddock: Now I know that you're all pretty busy with your hair appointments, and your watsu massages and your attempts to stay young so your husbands won't leave you. But here's an idea! Why don't you try eating dinner with your child every once in a blue moon. And heads up here, lady, try smiling once in a while. People hate you.

  • Jamaican Nanny: Stop eatin' them boogers!
