"Minari" means water celery in Korean and is the favorite food of Koreans. In the film, the male protagonist's family are Koreans who are struggling to make a living in a foreign country. They open a small pasture on the edge of the city to grow vegetables. In this family, one wife and husband are accustomed to obedience, and the other is unwilling to give in. The two of them have different religious beliefs, different dreams and pursuits, and their children's lives are in dire straits.
