Minari, a Korean word that means "water celery". The water celery seeds brought from Korea can take root and grow everywhere, and they are full of vitality and can be made into various dishes to fill the stomach. Jacob didn't want to be poor and useless all his life, Jacob bought a house. He hopes to grow Korean vegetables on this land and sell them to local large Korean supermarkets.

The protagonist in the film is like Minari, facing his son's heart disease, financial constraints, water cuts, fires, and a life with no turning point in sight, but always grows as strong as water celery by the creek. Minari has become the most appropriate spiritual symbol for immigrants pursuing the American dream. It uses sincere family stories to tell the history of immigrants' hardships and struggles in foreign countries.
